Tata Motors has its new game changer in compact hatchback segment which is nothing but a Tiago. Yes, it is much awaited one from Tata Motors is finally here & it is the New face of Tata motors which is the first model designed under "Impact Design Philosophy" which is an Eye catching design. Now Tata motors has an answer for Hyundai i10, Maruti Celerio, Chevy Beat & Renault Kwid which are its main Rivals. Tiago is mainly targeted for First-time buyers & daily commuters.   Exterior: Well, Tiago is the best looker, Front portion has Smoked 3D headlights to give a sporty feel & Piano black radiator grill has a chrome at the bottom which is called as 'Humanity Line' by Tata motors. Prominent Front bumper has decently designed air dam, chrome bezel for Fog lamps & with some sharp character lines on it. On the side, it has Sharp shoulder line that runs around the rear, which is a ?Slingshot Line? as seen in the Zest & waistline gives it a dynamic look in a standstill. It's also attractive from the rear as well, with too many character lines on boot lid & rear bumper. And the 14" Alloy rim & 175/65R14 tyres gives it a perfect stance.   Interior: Wow! Apart from the exterior, the Tata's new design philosophy also continues inside of Tiago. The Two-tone Dashboard has Chocolate brown colour on the Top & Ash grey colour on the Bottom. The fit & finish, quality of materials used for dashboard & trims are much improved than other Tata cars. Harman Infotainment system has a piano black bezel, USB port, Aux port & 8 speakers which make great quality of sound. It also has Turn-by-Turn navigation & Juke car app. Then the AC vents get Chrome accent around it, while the side AC vents get chrome & body coloured design element only for Berry Red & Sunburst Orange coloured vehicles, that too only for XZ variant, rest of the variants will get piano black element with chrome accent.   Cabin Space/Comfort: Tata has managed to offer 22 storage spaces in Tiago & Chilled glovebox is the coolest feature, seats are well cushioned & the fabric is so soft. The rear Leg room, Knee room, Headroom, Shoulder room & under thigh support is decent but it will be a trouble for taller & good sized adults. The boot space is 242 litre & it gets bigger if rear seats are folded. The front has Mc-Pherson strut & rear has Twist beam suspension which is soft that absorbs the bumps & potholes so well.   Powertrain: Tata motors offers two engine options in Tiago, 1.2L petrol (Revotron) which makes 85PS Peak power & 114 Nm of Peak torque and 1.05L Diesel (Revotorq) which makes 70PS of peak power & 140Nm of Peak Torque. Both the engines are coupled with 5 speed MT with different gear ratios. All the variants get Two driving mode City & Eco, it runs in City mode by the default & Eco mode can be switched for Economical drive which is on the centre fascia. The Diesel variant delivers 25kmpl & Petrol variant delivers 19kmpl of mileage which may vary according to the driving pattern.     Driveability / Performance: Both the diesel & petrol versions drive well in City mode, but in an Eco mode, it feels little under powered while overtaking/Kick down condition. As the ergonomics are good the seating position & Road visibility has no negatives. Electronic Power Assisted Steering ( EPAS) system has speed sensitivity which senses a speed of the vehicle, as the speed builds up the steering gets tighter for a confident drive which is essential for highway cruising & in a slow speed, it gets lighter which is easy to maneuver in tight city traffic & easy for parking. Additionally, it has Vertical members in front suspension to avoid unnecessary undulation movements.   Safety: As far as safety is concerned, it has Anti-Lock Braking System(ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Side impact members, Crumple Zone & Dual Airbags (SRS).   Features: Tiago has Steering mounted controls, Electrically adjustable ORVMs with repeaters, Height adjustable driver seat, Reverse parking sensors, Turn-by-Turn navigation app, Juke car app for multiple pairing of mobiles for music, Chilled glovebox, 22 storage spaces & Two drive modes.   Pros: *Good looker. *Value for money. *Expanded Dealer network for service. *Fuel efficient. *Great Music system. *Comfy seats. *Practical car   Cons: *Less Brand Value. *Less Resale Value. *Softer rear suspension that sink in full load condition. *Jerky Engine.   Verdict: It looks good, it drives good, it feels good & it is good. Tiago is excellent value for money package car with good dealer Network for maintenance if Brand image is not considered.
