Great car but lousy after sales service.

  I have a great car, a skoda fabia bought in 2009. It gave me no problem till Sep 2012. I sent my car for an AC check in sep/oct. After that my car has had to visit the workshop 3 times. I have had to change my Power window controller unit, the AC got rectified after 3 visits. The 30K servicing was not done on the 3rd trip even though it was mentioned in the job card. The Workshop does not have a Service Manager for last one month. The last straw was the 3rd and 4th trip. After the car came back from the 3rd trip the Speedometer and Odometer stopped working. The workshop claims a rat cut through the wires etc etc. Now after they rectified the problem, the Airbag Indicator on the dashboard indicates a fault. The work shop claims I have to replace it. estimated cost 40K. Mystery is why their was no fault indication before the car went to the workshop. I called up Skoda India for an audit of all the work done over last 2 months. They forwarded by complaint to Senator. Nobody from Skoda has bothered to call me or advice me on how to get the audit done. You may buy a Skoda car, its very good. But do not expect any after sales service from the company or the workshop. They do not believe in Customer delight. I have given up, was thinking of buying another Skoda but changed my mind in the last 2 months
