Look and Style : Excellent   Comfort : Good for the driver, OK for the rear passengers   Pickup : Excellent   Mileage: Claimed is good... yet to be tested   Best Features : The front and the back look. Look Compact and sturdy   Needs to improve: Drastically on Leg space for the rear passengers. Seems only like a Car worth carrying 4 passengers as an AC console provided in b/n is a bit of spoiler when comes to leg space. A 2 inch of extra leg space in the rear will make the difference, the boot space can be compensated.   Overall Experience: Good in features, Again Legroom has been compensated for the boot space...

The above comment was rightly said. Had booked in advance with great expectations after reading lot of comments. When taking the test drive on the high end model had left with lot of disaapointments, Leg space is not worth enough or comfortable to sit in the rear seats. Interiors are really not to the level of SUV. Good things is boot space, am not sure about the usage frequency of that much space. Drive was pleasure. Indicators and the steering horns are really not comfortable to drive. Cost is worth while comparing to sedan, but not worth as an SUV. Take a test drive to get in to conclusion.

Quite a good review. However, its only correct if we compare it with box like bodies (of SUVs that are present in this range of budget). If one is looking for a feeling of driving a luxury car, Duster cannot dissatisfy.

leg space is enough for rear seat even for a person with height of 5.11 feet (as that of mine)

    Ajay |12 Jul,2012 12:36:18 AM

Yes, I agree with James here, as I would have cancelled my booking if it was a 7 seater because at this cost and mileage if you can have 7 seat facility in that case all the taxi owners would love it....and while comparing the maintainence of the vehicle ..Logan irrespective of its bad looks is working great in TAXI business because of its good efficiency and low maintainence

Leg space is not enough.Being SUV 5 seater is disadvantage.cost looks pretty high for petrol verson in terms of features.also average mentioned may be less in comparison to other suvs.

    James |11 Jul,2012 03:33:19 PM

Dear Ravindra, if it would have been a 7 seater SUV, then it would have been the first choice of TAXI holders (its mileage is awesome as compared to its counterparts). So thank God that its not a 7 seater, else I would have cancelled my booking (and many others like me who are image conscious).

We all are comparing interiors of Duster with the Sedan which is not correct, Renault can easily provide good interiors like fluence with better plastic and things and increase the price by 4-5 lakhs and then we all would crib about the high pricing....It is always said more the sugar the sweeter it is...Also, we are talking about 7 seats..I saw XUV 500 and the last two seat s are of no use while going on long rides...as then where you gonna put your bag and stuff...I don't like putting all that stuff at the top...sorry that is my understanding, so again in a 7 seater on long drives you would have 5 people with your luggage...I took test drive today and was loving the way it accelerates...all in all a good package..waiting to own one....soon :)

Please let me know which variant you drove. I drove the 110 bhp but the pick up was very poor. Is the five gear version better.

pl tell about the after sales service for the vehicle .It may be hard to get service if suddenly some problem comes in the vehicle. Not a single service station or show rooms are in Ghaziabad or nearby .How you are planned with after sales service to the customers. This is a big issue with us to think off.Like Maruti,Mahendra ,Hundai,Honda etc you may think on this issue and how you are going to deal with this in future. Before providing vehicle ,you may think of making space adjustment for the rear middle seat and for providing good leg space also.Doors are quite noisy and sounds abnormal which should not be .I made test drive pick up at first gear was not so high as at 2nd gear.you may think on adding some more features and milage in Petrol version so that you could be able to grab the market amongst those people who are not driving vehicle so much in a month and are even though forced to go with diesel version because of milage and features. This will harm you lot in future in terms of turn over in comparison to other brands.Be careful on these suggesations.I am also disturbe on after sale service and price of the vehicle in this segment and with these features and safety aspets etc.Pl speak reply for all the points.Thanks.

vechile is good , the much waited suv from renault should have concentrated on rear seat and also legroom for this reason many people are dispointed , renault should act recticfy the promlem if they they want to prove their presence compitive market.

RxL models not coming with rear AC console, the leg space is pretty OK in that. Also duster now will be available in 7 seater.. modifications at the dealer end. After sale service will be an issue for some time... but not for long.. with already 10000 bookings under its belt it sure is here to stay.. They made a wrong decision initially by joining hands with Mahindra.. Had a network of 40 dealers it has gone to 55 now.. will be raised to 100 dealers. If the car is of my choice i wont mind travelling 100 kms for a service station... For the next 3-4 years a new car will not cause problems i think.. Of Bad lucks i am not aware....the Looks are excellent..

Also about the doors.. what i believe it is opened and closed and banged sometimes around 250 times daily at any dealer network for 10 days it is 2500 times... i.e equal to around 100 days it takes to open the same when u own it... Then the local newspaper and TV channels take it out in jungles for test drive and posting reviews.. So a test drive vehicle at a dealers network. The RxL model in diesel or petrol is a must buy i suppose.. Personally petrol i ll not buy because of the mileage difference of around 6-7 Kms and then the difference of Rs 25-30 in case of diesel and petrol. If diesel vehicle price is increased by govt by adding duties... then i may think of petrol version
