Best Compact SUV
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Variant: VDI, Model: 2017 KMs Driven: 67180 KM Summary: Best value for money Compact SUV with few minor cons. When I planned my wedding when I was in Saudi Arabia, I was looking forward to renting out a vehicle for my 3 months stay in India. I had 2 options, either the new swift or Vitara Brezza. I have driven swifts before but really wanted to try Brezza also because of its presence on the road compared to swift. When I received the car, it was driven for 67180 KM already usual for a rented car. The first impression was really bad when I drove it in the busy Bangalore traffic. After a few days stay in Bangalore for my wedding suit, I drove it back to Kerala for my wedding. That's when I started to appreciate the cars long drive quality. I drive Toyota Fortuner, Land Cruiser Prado and GMC Yukon XL in Saudi Arabia. Coming from such big cars I can compare some few pros and cons of Brezza. Even though it's a small sub-4-meter Compact SUV, the road presence and grip was never an issue. I could really be confident in my driving. My friend accompanied me in his Innova Crysta from Bangalore to Kerala. He was amazed to see the maneuverability of the Brezza in the highway. Even though it has a very low turbo lag, it was easy to adapt to the engine's flow of power and use it according to my need. The steering wheel is confidence-inspiring as well as the braking. Shifting gears or pressing the pedal was was easy and accurate. The only issue was the reverse gear, it could have been because it's a rented car. But when I enquired with my friends who have a Brezza, they all had it. In fact, almost all the Maruti cars have it. Even the Innova Crysta my friends has had it. When you shift the gear to the reverse gear, sometimes even if the lever has made it to place, but the gear was activated. Needed to do it twice to make it work. That was the only annoying stuff I was not able to tolerate. Other than that, I really appreciate Maruti Suzuki for bringing such a nice looking, easy driving, drive inspiring car in this price point. I went for a road trip as my honeymoon, drove for 2500 KMs connecting all the places in Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu in the Brezza. I never felt I was driving for so long for around 14 days. The car gave me a home-like feeling. From Kasaragod (my hometown) to Madkeri, Mysoor, Bangalore, again back to Mysoor, then to Ooty via Gundalpetu, then to Munnar via Gudalur, then to Eranakulam, then back to My home town. 2500 kms journey without a single issue. The mileage was consistent even during offroad driving and busy bangalore traffic. The AC was perfect and never had to increase more than two. The best part was folding the rear seats gave us a massive boot space for us to stack everything required during our mini honeymoon, including a big laundry basket.

Maruti Vitara Brezza is the best AMT car under 10 lakhs. Nice driving experience both in the city and on the highway. Decent mileage which is in-between 18-20 kmpl.
