Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been dominating the sub-4 meter compact SUV space since its launch in 2016. The car with its glamorous design and contemporary interiors has now added another feather to its cap surpassing the cumulative sales of 4 lakhs unit in less than three years of time. It has become the fastest sub-compact SUV to achieve this feat. This is something incredible especially for a manufacturer who has never been much active in the field of SUVs. The craze for this SUV seems to be never-ending and for that, the carmaker really deserves a pat on its back. The last 1 lakh milestone it achieved was in just 7 months of time and the credit for this goes to AMT transmission which contributes about 20 per cent of the overall sales since it was first launched in May 2018. Maruti is known for its apt styling, creature comforts and safety aspects. It sports dual-tone scheme on the outside with aggressive grille and projector headlamps complementing it. The sporty roofline and the glossy black alloy wheels add a touch of dynamism to its profile. Inside, the car is loaded up to the brim with features including touchscreen infotainment powered by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse parking camera, electrically adjustable/foldable ORVM, automatic climate control, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, 60:40 rear split, cruise control among others. In the safety department, the SUV comes loaded with standard aspects such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mount. The figures could have been more if Maruti had launched this car with the petrol engine option. But unfortunately, the SUV is available in an only 1.3L diesel engine which makes 90PS and 200Nm of max torque, paired to either 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT system. But as of now, Brezza is the star of the compact SUV segment and I really love it.
