Here comes a hero from maruti suzuki stable, Sx4 needed a makeover, though it got some changes in the grille and a big change under the hood. VVT engine, variable valve technology, is a great engine. With 106bhp it has ample punch to pull the car, but unlike honda city it doesnt speed as fast. Gear ratios are good enough, you can easily change gears at rpm around 1500. I feel it could have had more power at lower gears, but not a big problem as such. But engine is much more refined, giving better fuel economy and silence in the cabin. It has got a fresh new honeycombe grille, which according to me looks more up market and stylish. Swept back headlamps with the grille make it look fabulous in my opinion. Ground clearance is the best in class, so you wouldn't think twice while going over speed breakers or potholes, best suited for indian roads. It has a big boot, big enough to fit 4-5 suitcases and small bags here and there. Thanks to its italian sibling, fiat sedici, sx4 inherits good ride and handling, rear seat has soft suspension so its comfortable still. It has got amazing space inside, cabin feels airy thanks to large windscreen and other windows. The rear view mirror is enormous and very helpful. The quality of materials used is good, not as good as competitors but nothing really to complain about. The waterfall dash is amazing, you get the hold of it in seconds. Good music system, good sound quality, excellent air conditioner. Mileage with ac is around 12 in the city and 14-15 on the highway. Sx4 has enough features to woo costumers. I say its much more practical buy over the all new honda city, definitely a boon for indian roads and a better buy. Being 2 lac cheaper than S honda city variant, i feel its a winner from MS.
