Reviewing Swift Dezire Deisel

I have been driving Maruti Swift Dezire Diesel car for more than seven years now. It was my first sedan, my previous one being another one from Maruti stable, the iconic Maruti 800. I believe Swift Dezire is by far the most value for money vehicle on Indian roads, built largely indigeniously for the Indian terrain, both urban and rural, keeping in mind the vast middle class demography of our country India, which usually moves one step at a time on its aspirational ladder, in a sense to own a large car which can easily accomodate its five to six member family, and also still be able to give a sense of very decent comfort in terms of the car's high quality seats, good leg room across, very powerful air-con, with ample safety features and a decent dashboard. The only negative about this car would be, at-least it happened in my case, that the car's gear-box, mine being a diesel varient, is not truely upto the mark, and could have been more rugged and smooth at the same time. It does tend to start giving trouble once the car is, say, older than 5-6 years. Otherwise it is a very good car to own in India
