I had purchased my Maruti Swift Dzire ZDi last year in June. I have almost completed 11500kms in the same and it is due for its second service now. It returned an impressive average of 21kmpl. I am very happy with it and I can get it is very easy on the pocket to maintain as well. I had a Maruti Alto before this and I am a loyal Maruti buyer. I will also get a brilliant resale value for my Dzire when I sell it later on. The diesel engine is slightly noisy at times and the engine clatter is quite audible inside the cabin. I had my eyes on the Honda Amaze as well but then I am more comfortable with Maruti as a brand. Also, I wish Ford would have launched the Figo Aspire earlier so that I could have bought the same as it seems as a nice car. It even has 6 airbags in the top model I should have bought the top-end variant which comes with ABS and airbags and it would have kept me and my family safe. Hyundai Xcent was also amongst my shortlisted cars but I am glad I chose the Maruti. To sum things up, the Dzire is a good practical family car. I will get a good resale for it, it returns an awesome average of 21 kmpl and is quite cheap to maintain as well.Needed a car which would tread treacherous roads and nicer roads with equal ease, look powerful and assertive, and give great space and comfort. Got the model ZDi and have driven it for 1 years now. Not a geek, hence this review is pure as a customer who drives a car without knowing much about the mechanics of it. Just experiential review from a user. Pros - Light steering. Accelerates well and only on a sharp incline do I need to switch off the AC for a bit to give extra power. Nice console. Comfortable seats. In its class, the best boot space. Just the standard maintenance. The car comes in small sedan segment, one does not feel that one is seated low. I am glad I took the Dzire over the Ertiga, which I was about to! Cons - Auto-lock logic is not well designed. After you switch off the engine and get out, after 10 seconds all doors auto lock. But if in between those 10 secs, you reopen a door, the auto-lock won't happen. The internal beige seats and door lining are prone to smudges. Since the car has yet given me no trouble, and I have driven it over rough and hilly terrain (imagine miles and miles of riverbeds and stony paths for a road), fairly regularly...it has still not given any issue touch wood. I hope it keeps on bringing more smiles to my face every day!
