Maruti Ciaz

The Marut Suzuki Ciaz VDi+, for its price tag of Rs10Lakh on road, proves to be a valuable asset when it comes to having a premium feel without breaking your bank account. Coming from a Ford where the premium plush feeling is standard for even the cheapest variant the Ciaz seems to be a sort of let down. Compared to its own brothers and sisters, the sx4, swift and the DZire, its a peg above. Ride,Quality and handling- 5ft 11inch tall and still more head space left for me to reach out and look ahead proves the Ciaz is a tall competitor. Ride quality seems to be on price but without constant monitoring of the tyre pressure the Ciaz will be a rough drive (maybe i need to change my tyres from the stock MRF they provided). Under thigh support could have been a little more but no complaints for this price range. Sorely missing is the steering wheel reach adjustment but will have to do with the rake adjustment. Driving around is smooth with a pleasant revving of the engine when needed. Wont deliver the same power delivery when in higher gears like you get from a Vento. Even-though, pleasant for city drive and comfy enough for a long drive. Fuel Efficiency- Daily drive city gives me an average of 17.9kmpl and highway of 22. Pretty happy after getting 9 & 11 with the Figo petrol. Interiors- Spacious, "Maruti" premium and beige. Seats get dirty very easily and hard to rub off. Will need a proper shampoo wash for the stains to come off clean. Exterior- Looks department there has been no compromise but the body quality looks to be light. Noticed a few bumps on the body that might have come from minor stones. No scratches luckily. Verdict- Minor additions like magnetic sunshades and the rear windows sunshade would have been perfect additions and IMO should be standard across all variants. Sorely missing the infotainment system. Would have completed the premium feel. Mass has been pleasant so far the only weird factor being the replaced parts are sent back the Maruti Chennai. Weird since I paid for the car and the parts and even more weird that Maruti would "take" and not buy back the parts rather than offer the old parts back to the customer as proof of work being done like Toyota. FE has been excellent. All in all a Value for Money car.
