My baleno experience

Pros: What made me to choose Baleno leaving i20 and jazz are 1. Having used M800 and swift for 8 years each I had no doubt or questions about the quality reliability and durability of Maruti engines and cars. 2. Baleno was priced very competitive though I felt the Zete variant offered more value I felt with everything else being good, its worth to afford the Alpha. 3. Got impressed by the space inside the car in the first moment I entered the car, and this space was the major discomfort I felt with i20. But Jazz had good space. 4. While during test drive again got impressed by the response from the engine from 1st through 4th gear. But felt little slower in 5th as compared to swift. I was OK with that as most of my use would be in city traffic. This is exactly what made me say no to jazz, the sluggishness of jazz to respond in the 2nd year after a speed breaker or a slow down. But Baleno was brilliant on this at 2nd gear. 5. The car is loaded with all the features that good for an 8 lakh car when it was launched. Its giving me a mileage of 16.5 almost similar to what my M800 gave which make me feel good when I compare the power size and weight difference between both. 6. The most important thing I felt to buy Baleno was the handling and steering response. I am an occasional slow driver as when my parents are with me. Rest of the time I drive fast or rash. And this car I felt is the best has the best handling and steering response among the three. Move left or right exactly the same degree as I wish in my mind and come back quickly with great stability. 7. One more thing which I felt good about the car was the calmness inside cabin once all glasses are up. Felt the NVH levels are better than swift and i20. Had been to Bangalore from Cochin, and in Tamil Nadu highways I took the car upto 135 kmph, and there was no much noise inside the car as my father could sleep calmly in the passenger seat. Overall very satisfied with the car. Cons: Nothing much to complain about the car, but then if I have to say a few 1. Could have had an armrest and an ac vent at the rear. 2. Felt the front armrest is little small. I am 173 cm tall but when I adjust the seat to my comfort of reaching the pedals, the only tip of my elbow can be kept in an armrest. When I sit comfortably using armrest I find little difficulty in reaching the pedals. 3. Should have come with android auto support also but the navigation provided is good enough. Sometimes feel if the Google maps from the phone could be seen in the navigation panel, would have been better with live traffic info as well 4. Maybe the rear glass is a little small but not a big issue. 5. Ha, the main one though it has 2 airbags and abs which give me some happiness I some doubts in the strength of the body. Have a feeling that the other two cars have some more rigid body, especially i20. Thankfully though never had a chance to understand it from my car but some images of accidents on news and web give me this doubt. The only satisfying thing even in this is the passenger cabin of all those cars which met with accidents were good and no one lost a life but injured. This is giving me some uneasiness when thought of. Overall this car also has given me absolute peace of mind. Good maintenance and ownership experience till date. I love to maintain cars in the best condition and never hesitate to take it to a service station Nexa product the price of spares and service charges are fair and reasonable. I firmly believe with proper maintenance this car also would do another 8 plus years for me.
