Baleno - Superb out quality.
As researched, Baleno's exterior quality is compared to the top class of cars. The shining quality will last long and will remain as a top brand car henceforth. Mileage of the diesel variant is quite amazing as it has a well competitive power comparing to other competitors.
Spacious, stylish, simply superb exterior and interior look. I suggest fixing spoiler and alloy wheels to eat the eyes.
Due to reduced weight of the body , fuel economy is visibly good than swift. Gear box shifting for this particular VVT engine is good and smooth. The engine is well proven ( Fiat ). Maintenance cost will be as same as Swift as Maruti don't want to take any chance of losing the market. Even for servicing , you don't need to go to NEXA showrooms. Local Maruti Suzuki authorised service stations are there for it.
Ride quality is far better than Swift and other Maruti Suzuki cars . ABS and EBD make you feel safer and width and length make the car stable on corners and high speeds. But still, i20 has best in class ride quality.
Maybe ground clearance should have been more as it has larger wheelbase than Swift (by 90 mm). Bending at the centre may cause it to touch high objects. At the beginning ,waiting period is too high and it doesn't suit to Maruti Suzuki.
pace and comfort are good. Space is not like Jazz but still makes a good impression. Plastic quality used is a bit low. 60:40 split of the rear seat is really a good feature.
We were always wondering where the new Baleno would fit in. If you see the pre-launch discussions, there was scepticism as we expected it to be priced higher. Then, Maruti pulled off a coup by pricing it closer than expected to the Swift. The Baleno's positioning became clear right then. If you like the Swift, but want something bigger, the Baleno is for you. While the Swift is still a competent hatchback selling over 17,000 units each month, those looking for more cabin space, better quality and a more upmarket feel were forced to look outside of a Maruti showroom.
With the introduction of the Baleno, Maruti has given its customers an option to upgrade to a product from its own stable. Because NEXA dealerships need to cover their investment, the company has decided to sell it through that premium dealership network. That's in conflict with brand NEXA positioning as the Baleno isn't a 'truly premium' car. The smaller NEXA network will also limit the reach of the car across India. We find it to be a flawed strategy.
