Best car for the beginners

After driving my Alto 800 (2014 Jul) of more than 2 years I am writing this review. As a first car owner it is always a challenge to select a best car which will be Cost and fuel efficient. After a few research I found Maruti as a best option and Alto 800 as my first car. I opted to not to go with top model and go with LXI model petrol version. The reason for petrol version and not the CNG model is that we will not get boot space on the CNG Model. Another reason for not going for CNG is due to long queue for filling the GAS which will be tedious job in urgency. In my initial phase of learning it was difficult to drive. But as time gone I found it exciting to drive. Mostly in the traffic where I find most of the big cars struggling to find space and move ahead, I find it too easy to move on. This makes me feel too excited even though being a low budget car. The pick up of the car is good. Many times I was able to pickup far better than most of the high end cars. The engine has got some sound while raising. But yes the pickup is slow when I turn on the AC. Mostly driving upward slope I had to turn off the AC in order to get a better pickup. Also with all seats loaded it becomes hard to get the pickup with AC On. This is the only issue where I found it has the drawback in the Car. Yes it is due to low engine having only 800cc. But as per my usage when most of the time I travel alone the average that I got is like OK. Where the company claims to have a fuel efficiency of 23Km I got around 16 to 18 KM per litre. The seating layout is good enough for all the seats as I compared it with Alto Model which I felt some what congested in Alto old model. As per the interior the car looks good inside but the dashboard design provides less space specially the middle bulging half circle dashboard cuts the space for keeping things around. The leg room is quite good as per my height of 5.4 it looks quite comfortable. The exterior looks of the car is excellent compared with the Old 800 model. Overall I find the car to be suitable for city traffics and short distance traveller. If you are a long journey drivers then this car is not meant for you. Better to go with high end car.
