Look and Style The all new Alto 800.. Lets start with the looks first.. As far as i can workout, Alto 800 looks like a badly made  Figo thats been through a compressor. Its a little bit taller than the old alto 800, and there ends the diferrences.. Inside you will get the same monotonous and boring interiors that you used to get in the previous Alto, except a few changes in the speedometer console. They have thrown in the option of airbags now in the vxi model, which is welcome deal.  Comfort The ride.. the previous Alto wasnt a bad car for its money. It wasnt the most comfy one , but it kinda works. There isnt much to expect in the new Alto 800 other that what you got in the older version. The rides the same, the gear shift , though, i found it a bit better in the new one. With a bit tall stance, alto 800 gives you a sense of a little bit more space and airy than its predecessor. Pickup and Mileage The boot space is sufficient for a small family and for city outings. Because it is small, you can easily take it through in city traffic, but the same was the case in the previous alto. The perfomance is subltle and enough for a city car. If you take it to the max, its sounds bad and the vibrations creep in, like its predecessor.  As every small Maruti does, it returns pretty good mileage. You have to get about 18-19kmpl even in city conditions.   Overall Experience Even though Alto 800 is said to be a new car, every tny bit of it reminds us of the older Alto. I found it hard to understand the total external makeover of the same old thing and branding it new. I really expected the new Alto 800 to have a different looking interiors, but the smae dreary interiors is being presented for the alto, the alto k10 and for this as well. I wanted alteast  some good clour scheme in the interiors without any changes in th quality.  The verdict then.. The new Alto 800 does what a city car has to do, and that is exactly what the old Alto did, except for  my eye, the old Alto looked better than the new Alto 800. It is very hard to find a good reason to go and buy a new car that is very much the old car it was, with a little increase in the price tag. If alto is what you really want What was wrong with the old one? and What is wrong with the Alto K10. It is more nippy and better looking. If all you want is some car to move about , then Alto 800 sounds just fine.
