Hyundai Elite i20 - The stylish premium hatchback.

Hyundai Elite i20 - The stylish premium hatchback.

I bought a Petrol Sportz variant on 1st Jan 2015. I have been driving this car for almost 2 years now and I didn't find any drawbacks in it till now. Engine: Car performance is smooth & the gradual acceleration is the most important thing about this car which i like. Yes, this car is not for the ones who need a sudden surge of pickup at lower rpm. This doesn't mean that car lags in power, it has enough power to pull the 5 passengers on board.I have driven this car on NH4 at a speed of 160km/hr with 4 passengers on board, it feels quite stable at this speed, there is no nervousness at all in the steering wheel at this speed. At this speed also, NVH levels are awesome.   Exterior/Interior Design: I just fell in love with the looks..esp the blackend c pillar which gives a floating roof style to it. Sportz & the other lower variant comes with the 14" steel wheels which looks small on this such a huge car, rather i expect hyundai could have given the same size of rim size which the top end has i.e.16" If they had kept a consistency of the rim size across all the variants, then customer could have easily upgraded to alloy wheels for the variants it doesn't comes with. Talking about the space inside, 4 people seats comfortably on a long ride. I suggest only 4, because of the bucket seats this car has, which slightly gives a discomfort for the middle passenger on the rear seat. For the rear passengers, rear ac vent does a good job in summer season cooling the cabin quickly.   Features. There are many features in this car which are very useful. Arm rest - gives comfort while driving for long distance, can keep some small things like wallets mobile into it. Cool glove box - can store some diet cokes/tetra packs of juice for long trips.   Escort Headlamps - when ur packing ur car in such location where there is no street light, this feature is very handy.. one can turn on the headlight & start walking towards ur destination, once your reached.. simply lock the car twice & headlamps will go off. Battery Saver - very very useful in rainy & winter season when we turn on the parking lights while driving during day time & sometimes tend to forget to put it off. In such cases it gets auto off in 10secs. Steering mounted controls & Bluetooth connectivity for hassle free driving. Foldable mirrors - helpful while parking your car in tight squeeze or while moving through narrow patch of road. Bootspace: Its quite good enough to hold all your luggage for a trip. Mileage: For city driving, I get an average of 13kmpl & highway it gives 16kmpl. Both the figures are with ac turned on. Maintenace Cost: This is a very important factor where many Maruti fans says that Hyundai is costly on maintenance & their cars are simply expensive. This is absolutely wrong. My dad do own a Maruti Suzuki Celerio also, so i know very well what is the maintenance cost for a maruti car & its not that cheap what people talk about. Elite i20 servicing cost which I paid for this two years. 1st Servicing - Free - Rs.0 /- 2nd Servicing - @ 1 Year or 10000kms - Rs.2700/- 3rd Servicing - @ 2 Year or 20000kms - Rs.2900/- Between every annual servicing there is an intermediate 6 months general check up which is done absolutely free of cost. In this checkup actually i do a 5 tyre rotation, Balancing & Alignment which is actually not recommended by Hyundai but i get it done for the long life of tyres. Cost comes for this job is approx Rs.1000. Looking at all the factors I do feel that I can recommend this car.
