I had an opportunity to test drive the one which will win in car spotting in most of our Indian traffic the Grand i10. I was able to know why this car has become the favourite for most of the first car owners. Even the competitors in this same segment have a bit better quality and options, the reason this car takes lion share in the market might be due to pricing. This car should have been designed to target the customers who have their budget within 7 lacs and yes It meets the goal. The looks play a mediocre comparing the Swift, Polo and even i20, the look and style keep ahead of cars like Celerio and Beat. The car looks are convincing and the designs are no way over done. The front looks are attractive, with headlamps pulled back and the chrome grille. The number plate part runs between the grille and thus it makes a bigger front display. The quality of riding is cool and the car got easily usable to me immediately after touching the roads. The gear shifting is smooth and faster but with a light weight steering wheels, the riding feels less sporty. Even the car responses good, the feel of driving a grand vehicle is missing. All-round driver visibility is sufficient, including rearward vision when parking. The 4 rear parking sensors provide audible feedback and work just as intended. While considering for daily use, this car holds you better, For a long drive, it might be tiring for the drivers to bang the accelerators. Being a small car, it is easy to drive in traffic with a turning radius 5m and a decent ground clearance 165mm. 1.2 litre Kappa Petrol Engine which is further assisted by the Dual VTVT mechanism. It helps it to deliver an amazing combination of optimum performance as well as best-in-class fuel economy. The 14" alloy wheel in regular finish looks fine. The cabin is sufficient that the co-driver has a comfortable journey, the headroom is good and spacious even for the small hatchback. Fitting an aftermarket music system will be difficult, because of the way that the OEM ICE has been integrated with the dashboard. If you are keen on improving the sound quality, it's probably best to swap in better speakers and add an amplifier if possible. The passengers in the back seat feel comfortable with 3 grown adult without elbowing each other, but this was even better in Etios Liva where an ample space is available. The leg room is decent and the middle chassis is lower for a comfortable long drive. The music system is good but the lightning felts amateur which could have been made a mature finish. The car misses the rigidity point where the doors are slender and seems too weak. The door holder and the interior seem to be thin and I think this makes the car cost effective.   This car will be a better choice for the new drivers and daily office users.
