Pros : Pleasure to drive

Cons : High Maintenance cost

I bought the Honda City 1.5S MT in April last year. At its 3rd service (10,000 km), I was told that the front brake pads need replacement. On further enquiring, I was told that this was pretty common, and the newer Honda cars were needing replacement of brake pads at 5000 kms only. I realize that this is dependent on the driver, but I drive other cars too (Suzuki). I was also a proud owner of the old Honda City. But none of the above-required replacement at such an early time. The dealership also told me that there had been a change in the vendor who supplies brake pads and problems have started occurring after that. I just wish to bring it to the attention of the Honda Management and all potential customers that this is a genuine problem, and many current customers are facing it. Such issues would make the maintenance of cars very costly for consumers like us. The dealership which promised to raise the matter with the company has not done anything at all and has sent me a letter saying it is not their problem. Apparently, there are silos, and they do not communicate with each other. I will not recommend Honda until this issue is resolved.

Hi The issue of brake pads for some folks is due to lack of knowledge. You need to learn to drive with less braking using your accelerator. this needs experience..I know guys changing clutch pads at 30000 kms. sheer ignorance of how to drive !! That is why others dont face such issues !

Hey Delhiite4evr, I agree with you. Your brake pads are crap and I don't think it's because of the way you drive. Accelerator braking or no, there's normally no reason to change them at 5000 km unless you're driving with your foot on the brake. So it's sub-standard pads. Shame on Honda!

I test drove fiesta, honda city, verna and Sx4. I felt Sx4 is lot better in terms of pick up, gear ratios, suspension and what more, mileage of 14 kmpl with AC on. Sx4 is a rock solid car. great quality from Maruti and also lots of features in a competitive price. Sx4 is the best car out in town!!!

I bought the Sx4 blue color with the facelift. It has got 10 spoke alloy wheels and gives a great aesthetic looks. Honda City was too costly for me and won't suit my village roads which has moon craters like carvings. Also, Sx4 has more boot space and great luxury seats. I will definitely recommend you to go for Sx4.

I changed mine at 28000 kms, still feeling that it could have done easily another 5000kms with my driving style...so changing at 10000 is either a bad driver or a poor break pad and you can complain and get free replacement for the same ?
