My Initial Honda City Experience

Look and Style: My whole family fell for the look & style of the Honda City kept in the showroom, on our very first visit. It looked every bit a big car and yet was so cute. The Royal Beige colour of the showroom car made it look all the more attractive. Couldn't just take our eyes off it. We saw other cars like Vento (VW), Linea (Fiat), SX4 (Maruti Suzuki) and Manza (Tata), but none could get Honda City off our minds.  Comfort : We took our new Honda City VMT from Ahmedabad for a pilgrimage to Shri Khatu Shyamji 800km away, and then onwards to Shri Salasar Balaji -- another 120km away. Our Honda City sleekly covered the distance (mostly 4-lane NH-8, and rest NH-11) in 12 hours' driving plus 1.5 hours' breakfast & lunch breaks. At the end of this drive, we were fresh enough to immediately visit the temples for darshan. The drive was so comfortable that neither we nor our driver felt any fatigue. The aircon was powerful enough for the harsh Gujarat & Rajasthan climate. The spacious interiors were more than enough for our family of three, with two in the rear seat and one beside the driver.  Pickup : The showroom attendant had told us to restrict maximum speed to 100kmph till 1st service. Our Honda City picked up 100 kmph in a matter of seconds, leaving behind almost all other cars in the vicinity. Even on the ~100km ghat section before Udaipur, the car took the curves at 80kmph, with enough reserve power to overtake other cars at a gentle nudge to the accelerator. It was amazing power and road grip on the display.  Mileage : We got the overall mileage of 15.8kmpl at the end of the trip, driven throughout with aircon. In the city, I am getting 11kmpl and the 1st service has not yet been done.  Best Features : Performance to match its great looks, unbelievable fuel economy for such a large car and with aircon. Pride of ownership.  Needs to improve : Yet to find any.  Overall Experience : Wow!
