Having owned 3 cars already, I was advised to buy a Brio as I wanted a small car for Kolkata traffic. The car had an easy steering, though clutch and brake were extremely heavy and stiff. 15 days later the roof rubber belt blew away. Honda refused to accept their responsibility. 4 weeks later the spark plugs started misfiring, again Honda put blame on my head - said you have used adulterated petrol and forced me to pay 2100/- for changing spark plugs. 6 weeks on the STEERING failed, yes it failed, the car was veering left and right uncontrolled without steering control, luckily being late night traffic was very thin. Within a few seconds the steering started working again !! dealer test drove the car for 500mts and gave it back saying car was fine. The steering again failed 4 months into my nightmare with honda. Honda refused to accept their responsibility and asked me to pay for a new steering assembly - 25000/- if I wanted to buy one. They certified the steering as okay. It became obvious that HONDA is a nightmare if your honda develops a snag the company REFUSES to acknowledge it's warranty. They are thugs when car warranties are to be executed. Simply say no, blatantly refusing to replace/repair faulty cars. Noteable points, Honda cars guzzle fuel, brio gave me 6kmpl with AC, my basic santro - 7 years old gave me 12kmpl. Honda cars are underpowered, the cars may boast a high engine bhp & cc but somehow have the poorest pickup and mileage too. The brand new brio had a pollution reading of 0.30 where other manufacturers ensure readings below 0.10. My new swift had a reading of 0.006 CO. Every Honda owner who has had manufacturing defect issues will vouch for my experience. Beware, do not fall for FAKE HONDA assurances & warranties, power and mileage figures.
