Hello, I have given below some of the “Design issues” – not service issues – I have experienced with my Honda Amaze since it’s purchase on 13th July 2013.(MH14 DX 4274 iDTec S-MT). ERGONOMICS: 1. Ingress and Egress. Seat has to pushed totally back before I can step out of the car and I am only 5’6” tall. Rating-(5/10) 2. Very poor thigh support. steering wheel touches the thigh even when seat is completely down and steering completely tilted up. (5/10) 3. Clutch is very hard. Extremely uncomfortable and tiring for city driving. (4/10) NVH refinement: 4. A weird friction sound () emanates from the power train in coast condition. Example with 4th gear engaged and foot off the accelerator paddle and slightly low vehicle speed. (3/10) 5. Rear view mirror vibrates as engine rpm rises. (2/10) 6. A lot of engine noise radiates into the passenger cabin. There is a continuous ambient engine noise which causes fatigue. (3/10) 7. Typically around engine 1200 rpm to 1600 rpm range there is a very evident cabin boom noise caused by powertrain vibration. (5/10) 8. Extremely poor key on and key off performance (3/10) 9. Brake squeal under cold conditions. It sounds like a truck. Feels really embarrassing driving this vehicle. Suggest Honda engineers to look into the design aspect of braking. (4/10) 10. Very High squeaking noise from suspension while people enter and exit the car under standstill condition - usually with hand brake activated. (3/10) SUSPENSION: 11. Car underbody hits the speed breaker even when it is driven very slowly over it. (5/10) 12. Ground clearance of the car in kerb condition is 165mm but in laden condition it is much lesser than its competitors. Hence the issue. This limits it’s drivability in Indian conditions. (5/10) BUILT 13. I have travelled on 37000 km and the car has already started rattling and squeaking. (6/10) MILAGE 14. Honda Amaze return 25.8 km/lt but only under ideal conditions. Recently dowhill drive from HDFC colony Chinchwad to Airoli node in Mulund gave me a stunning 30.1 km/lt. On the way back uphill it returned lesser. Overall trip was 24.2(7.5/10) I have not stressed much on infotainment. On infotainment system part it is 4/10 I had heard of engineering prowess of Honda but driving this car for last 3 years some doubts have begun to gather in my mind about Honda’s capability.
