Cons : Stiff ride, best for 4 onboard, it lacks a few features
When we were looking for a vehicle in 10-11 lakh price bracket last year in December, I came to know about the EcoSport. Came pretty impressed after the test drive. In the price band of a c-segment sedan, you get a lot of features plus you sit high off the ground. And when it rains you can easily maneuver around if the street is slightly flooded since it comes with 550mm of water wading. A lot of cars struggles in this situation.
It is also good for soft off-roading as it sits 205 mm above the ground. In terms of ride quality, a lot of people will find its ride quality on a stiffer side, though it is not a bad thing. The stiff ride largely helps when it comes to high-speed maneuvers while softer setup makes the car bumpy at triple digit speeds.
We bought the trend plus diesel with the updated diesel engine (100 PS now). I had driven an older version (90 PS) of it, one of my friends owns it. You do feel the extra power in the new version, particular in the mid-range performance. Moreover, the updated version also adds a couple of new trims and features like LED guide light and daytime running lights. There is a new colour too choose along with existing shades. And after the launch of Vitara Brezza, Ford has significantly reduced its prices.
If you are planning to get yourself a compact SUV, please do look for the Ford EcoSport, totally satisfied me.
PS: Just close the door of a Vitara Brezza and then do the same with the Ford, you'll definitely feel the difference. You'll get to know the build quality of the EcoSport compared to the Brezza.
