Family compact SUV.

The Ford EcoSport underwent a heavy facelift in the last quarter of 2017 that made big changes in the car inside out. The new version gets a lot of physical changes that spans both at the outer side as well as in the interior of the crossover. Exterior The front fascia of the new generation EcoSport gets a lot of revisions like a freshly designed headlamp cluster that gets projector units now, redesigned fog lamps area and a big hexagonal grille that is flanked with horizontal slats. The skid plates are more prominent than before. The lower variants ride on 15-inch alloy wheels while the top-spec model is given 17-inch units. Interior Inside the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift, a good number of changes have been made. The cabin has become more feature-rich than before. In fact, the company has redesigned the entire front dash over the outgone model. There is a new 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system now finds a prominent place at the centre of the dash with the AC vents aligned below it. The system is sourced from the company’s latest SYNC3 and gets both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto connectivity. However, the lower variants get a 6.5-inch unit on the dash. Engine The biggest change has been made in the heart of the Ford EcoSport. The popular and the most powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine has been discontinued in the newer version. Hence, now the car is offered with either a 1.5-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel. However, the power production in the new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT has been bumped higher. The engine earlier made under 110 bhp power but has now been tuned in to make 121 bhp of maximum power and 150 Nm of peak torque. As for the transmission, there is a 5-speed manual as standard while there is an optional 6-speed automatic for the petrol versions starting from the Trend + trim. Overall the car can be a good choice. You can go for it. More details: 2.3k Views · Originally Answered: What are some reviews of the Ford EcoSport? Ford has always been a reliable brand and same is the story with their eco sport. It is ford’s attempt in the compact SUV segment with prices starting at around 7lakh and going all the way upto the better half of 10lakh it is a pretty capable and well equipped car. It comes with option of 3 engines, 2 transmissions, and 2 fuel types. The 1.5l petrol engine is a 4 cylinder producing 110 hp, 1.5l turbo diesel producing 100 hp but almost 60nm more torque. 1.0l eco boost petrol engine is turbo charged to give 125hp and 170nm torque. So over all you get a pretty nippy car. The automatic transmission is claimed to be a dual clutch but is not that refined. Manual transmission is a treat. The exterior and interior of the car are gorgeous and very well refined. The infotainment system comes with ford sync with voice command, Bluetooth, usb, fm/am radio etc. The buttons are a bit cramped up on the center console and the plastic finish on handles and knobs is not the best but are ok. The steering wheel is very comfortable. The view out of the car is good except the rear visibility which is hindered by the rear pillars. The rear seat felt a little cramped. Overall the interiors are satisfactory. The new special edition black version gives it a more sporty look on the inside. So on the whole this is a satisfactory car on the market though it is worth looking at the competition like the Hyundai creta, Nissan terrano, Renault Duster etc. 3k Views · looking on its features and performance I would like to give it 8 out of 10 ratings. you can also check the features of this car Roomy rear seats Clean Interiors Nice Handling While the older EcoSport used to come with 3 engines - 2 petrol and 1 diesel, the newer car comes with only 2 engine options. The diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre, TDCI, 4-cylinder unit producing 100 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque, mated to the same 5-speed manual gearbox. NVH levels on this engine are at par but the noise somehow filters in the cabin. Power delivery is linear and the EcoSport never really feels underpowered, even on the highways. Turbo lag isn't quite visible . Gear shifts are very notchy though and even the lever feels heavy, but the clutch is very light. In comparison Vitara Brezza offer a sleek gear shift operation. It kick-started the sub-four metre compact SUV segment which has now turned out to be the highest growing segment in the Indian car market. The EcoSport now got a makeover as a part of its product lifecycle. It now gets a new face, redesigned cabin and a new petrol engine. The updated EcoSport continues its fray with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V, Mahindra TUV300 and the Tata Nexon. The prices for the facelifted EcoSport remains unchanged over the older model. Exterior The facelifted EcoSport brings in a fresh fascia and an updated rear. The hexagonal grille is now reworked, eliminating the thin strip atop the main grille which houses the blue oval on the outgoing model. The front bumper is entirely redesigned with a larger but squared-off fog lamps and LED DRLs. The headlights retain the shape, but they are now bigger than before, lending the car a much-needed refreshment. The 17-inch alloy wheels gets an attractive design with the facelift but is available on the top-spec variant. Interior The most prominent change on the inside is the large floating infotainment screen mounted atop the centre console. There is a choice of either a 6.5-inch or an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system depending on the trim level. The infotainment system integrates Ford’s new SYNC3 connectivity system which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration compatibility with seamless smartphone connectivity. Ford offers automatic climate control, ISOFIX, automatic headlamps, glove box illumination, cruise control, rain sensing wipers and tyre pressure monitoring system on the top-of-the-line Titanium+ variant. Moreover, the top-spec also comes with hill start assist, ESC and traction control as well. Even the base variant of the new EcoSport have two airbags (driver and front passenger) as standard along with ABS and EBD. Powertrain Under the hood of the new EcoSport is a new 1.5-litre three-pot petrol engine of the Dragon family. The naturally aspirated motor produces 120bhp at 6,500rpm and a max torque of 150Nm at 4,500rpm. The engine can be had with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is the same 1.5-litre turbodiesel putting out 99 bhp at 3,750rpm and a max torque of 205Nm at 1,750rpm. The EcoSport is the only compact crossover with a petrol automatic option. When it comes to the rating we will give around 4 rating in terms of interior, exterior and driving. 131 Views The Fiesta-based crossover by Ford, EcoSport is a neither economical, nor a badass subcompact, but still impresses with its viability and convenient features. Although, you will have to overlook vertically challenged rear seating for that one. Let’s breakdown Ford Ecosport Utility. The SES trim of Ecosport adds an upgraded engine synced with standard AWD. The premium Titanium trim is also equipped with leather upholstery and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system. Ford Ecosport’s engine includes two powertrains: a 1.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost FWD inline-3 engine and a naturally anticipated AWD 2.0-liter four cylinder. Both the engines come with 6-speed automatic transmission. That means that the car manages to sprint 0-60 mph in just 8.8 seconds. Meanwhile, Honda HR-V does the same at 9.3 seconds. Ford Ecosport is extremely Economical offering an impressive fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city, 29 mpg in highway and 28 mpg in combined. Although, Its competitor, Mazda CX-3 offers better mileage figures at 29 mpg in the city, 34 mpg in the highway, and 31 mpg combined. However, other cars in the segment like the Chevy Trax and Honda HR-V return mediocre fuel economy at 25 mpg in the city, 33 mpg in the highway and 28 mpg combined. So yes, Ford Ecosport is great whether it is about going to work everyday or making that weekend trip you have ben planning for a long time. The interior of Ford Ecosport has been designed with versatility and finesse, offering 30 cubbies, storage bins, and hooks throughout the SUVs cabin. Also, second-row seats can be folded in case you require more cargo space for storing large items, say you surfboard. In addition, the SES trim features some really special interior fitments such as unique copper colored trim pieces and sport seats. Once you enter EcoSport, you’ll notice that floating display panel which comprises of 8-inch touchscreen engaging Ford’s latest Sync 3 multimedia system. This is standard on the Titanium and SES models. The lower trims get either one of 4-inch or 6-inch screen mounted on the center console with Sync3 as an option. The major Brand has also offered Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along the way. It shares design and styling cues from other cars of Ford like Escape and Fiesta. The SUV’s footprint matches the Fiesta hatchback, but obviously, it gets more ground clearance with a bold look. The Car has not yet been rated by any authoritative bodies on its safety front. However, there are number of features to make you feel safe in the SUV. Ford EcoSport is a neither exceptionally economical, nor very sporty subcompact, which impresses with its practicality and feature-rich interior, if one overlooks the vertically challenged rear seating. Optioning it with the 2.0L engine gives the best bang-for-the-buck balance between performance and features. Alternatively, you could skip the EcoSport and spend a bit more on the Chevrolet Trax which outclasses the ford in most of the aspects. Read More About at CARHP 237 Views Globally, the EcoSport (Ford insists it’s pronounced “Echo-Sport” even though it’s not “Echo-Boost”) has been around since 2003 and only now is it finally available to North American consumers. The EcoSport is currently in its second generation and got a thorough refresh before arriving in North America. It’s curious why Ford didn’t bring this little CUV to our shores sooner, as doing so could have helped it secure some market share before some very strong competitors got here. On the other hand, delaying its arrival here could have meant that Ford had a bit more time to make the global EcoSport exactly the small CUV North Americans wanted. And it was pretty close, but not quite there yet. The EcoSport holds 21 cubic feet (592 L) in the trunk and 50 cu-ft (1,416 L) with the rear seats folded flat. That’s less than the Honda HR-V and more than the Hyundai Kona. The bench also features seat cushions that flip up and backrests that fold down to make a flat load floor and more room for larger items. The trunk also has a removable shelf with three positions so you have multiple options for storing and hiding your stuff. For the safety in car, make sure that you have the device installed in the car as this device will help you to get the emergency services on the go at the time of need or emergency, when there is no network! Ford decided to keep the side-hinged hatch opening, even though the North American model doesn’t have the rear-mounted spare tire the global model does. This means there’s no way to open the hatch remotely — the only way to open it is via a small button hidden under the handle in the right tail light housing. Luckily, the door is engineered so a driver can’t fling it open and have it hit something inadvertently — a hydraulic setup ensures the door stays put and doesn’t act like a fridge door or bounce back and hit you. I also appreciate the capless fuel filler. Interior Features Inside, the EcoSport is livable, although it can feel a bit cheap in some places — there’s a lot of hard black plastic. The layout, however, makes sense and is intuitive and user friendly. Ambient lighting makes it more interesting and there are some smart places to stow stuff like a shelf above the glovebox and a little pocket in the side of the passenger seat where you can stow a phone. One interior option livens things up — it has partial leather seats with orange cloth inserts and an attractive matte-finish orange trim. One feature that is present here but often overlooked in competitor cars is fast-charging USB ports. The EcoSport comes standard with two fast charging ports up front, which is so necessary these days. Connectivity is also important and the EcoSport has the subscription-based ability to act as a hotspot that can provide wifi for up to 10 devices. Three levels of infotainment are available: the base model one isn’t a touchscreen, but a 6.5-inch and a bigger 8-inch touchscreen is available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The SYNC system is user friendly, but can be laggy and unresponsive to user inputs at times. Driving Dynamics Two engines are available for the EcoSport. The base engine is a tiny turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 123 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque and is available exclusively on the front-wheel-drive model. The upgraded unit is a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 167 hp and 149 pound-feet of torque that comes on all AWD models. The Verdict: 2018 Ford EcoSport Review The 2018 Ford EcoSport isn’t the best subcompact crossover in its class, but it’s comfortably average. Although it has some neat features and generally does everything you need it to do, it’s a little rough around the edges and is missing some key safety and driver assistance technology, which is a shame because Ford had so much time to perfect this formula, seeing as the EcoSport has actually been around for a long time. Still, the EcoSport packs in a lot of value and a lot of features that will be very handy during the daily commute or weekend adventures. 279 Views According to its performance iwouldgive it 8out of 10. The Ford EcoSport was launched in 2013 and fetched extremely good sales for its maker. It enjoyed a good run in the market until newer rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza came and stole the limelight. This forced the Ford to launch the face-lifted Eco-sport in 2017. The Car competes directly with , and for more better reviews you can visit 154 Views · A rating of 3 on 5. While the car is unique, esp. in the way it stands out with the wheel on the boot door, and and aggressive looking front, has a decent engine - mainly the 1.5 diesel motor, which is now souped up to a 100 bhp, space is good too, and the drivability is among the best, though the Duster AWD is a notch above the Eco in drivability. The quality of interiors is pretty acceptable with no badly fitted panels, cheap quality buttons, and stuff (something that is a glaring downer for the Duster). The seats are comfy and feel kind a’ sporty.
