Booking Through Ford Dealer
The Dealer of Ford in Ahmedabad initially forced me and asked to take Insurance from them. They didn't gave this in written proof. I brought this issue to the General Manager and Ford India. Both of them permitted me to take insurance from outside (this helped me to save Rs. 10000/-). The dealer also insisted that RTO registration should be done through them, for which they will charge Rs. 4000/- extra. On asking the local RTO authority they said that it is not necessary to register the vehicle through the dealer.
