Pros : looks,

Cons : evereything else

Test drove titanium optional 1.5 diesel today, looks are impressive, heavy doors feel gud,, features u can't count on fingers and dash board looks sporty,,, that's where all the story ends,,, small seats both front and rear in all dimensions.. u don't feel u r in a SUV, its like driving figo on the inside with ecosport out side ( beefed up figo - i'd rather call it.) 3rd gear is sluggish,,, u have to get down to 2nd no use accellarating in the 3rd gear. overall i wud not compare it to duster,,, driving duster from past 8 months now,, ecosport is no way an SUV,,, ya if increasing the groung clearence and adding the 5th tyre on the boot door makes any car SUV then only three letters L - O - L. some people compared it to i20... guys please look at the the fit and finish and the bucket seats in i20.... price tag is not the comparing factor... plzzzz

I ALREADY BOOKED 1.5 P AMBIENT... WHAT ABOUT CANCELLING IT AND CHANGING TO NISSAN SUNNY XL PETROLE?

    nitin deora |04 Jul,2013 10:17:40 PM

i have i20 petrl, polo - diesel and duster - 85ps... so ecosport is no way near these cars... nissan xl diesel or petrl wud make more sense if u r not SUV fan... if yes even then ecosport - - - - no way... go for duster 85 ps,,, renault has tuned the engine better than nissan,,

    kumar |09 Jul,2013 02:50:42 PM

i have honda city , ford figo and SUV 500 and and duster is no way near eco sport . if u r not a SUV fan go for duster, its driving comfort like a swift small engine capicity and for long drive not suitable duster is outdated , go for ecosport, new design new loks...

    Chandan Sharma |13 Jul,2013 08:05:32 AM

Completely Agree with you..Duster is outdated..ecosport is awsomely loaded with good engine aspect as compared to Duster.

    Hiiecosport

    Vijay |06 Jul,2013 08:01:36 AM

I have bought a Ecosport 1.5 Diesel titanium, it is very good, the Test Drive vehicles will be always less in terms of acceleration in order to improve the mileage, try to get a own vehicle and test drive it from some one. Ecosport is way better than duster in interior build quality awesome AC better under thigh supports in seats compared to the duster again its your wish buy or not. The previous guy has mentioned about diesel, you have booked petrol, it is a proven engine and it will definitely be better than duster or any other petrol from renault.

    amol |08 Jul,2013 01:39:36 PM

Yes !!!!!!! It is internationally recognized engine !!! there might be few up & downs regards to features. . . .But we won't able to judge it until & unless we are Mark Webber or Sebastian Vettal !!!

    pawan |08 Jul,2013 04:47:45 PM

i agree ford ecosport 1.5 diesel is the best choice right now and having excellent power with smooth staring operation. I have booked it but to wait for 2-3 months is not a great idea........ looking forward to have delivery asap.........i hope resale of diesel modal will be better than petrol one

    RICKY CHANDRA |15 Jul,2013 09:55:20 PM

DEAR VIJAY. I HEARD THAT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BRAKES ARE NOT OK. THERE ARE SOME MANUFACTURING DEFECTS WHICH THE COMPANY MIGHT CHANGE IN FUTURE. THE BRAKES ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE CAR TO STOP AT HIGH SPEED WHICH MIGHT BE DANGEROUS. I OWN A FORTUNER AND IT TOO HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WHICH THE COMPANY SUBSEQUENTLY CHANGED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR VIEWPOINT ON THIS. YOU CAN ALSO SEND ME A MIL IF POSSIBLE. THANKS AND REGARDS. RICKY CHANDRA. MAIL: rickychandra2000@yahoo.com Mobile: 09830012214.

    arpita |20 Jul,2013 11:29:26 AM

i want 2 know that is there any problem in automatic start and 3rd gear????

    archiyash |01 Aug,2013 12:36:27 AM

Hi vijay, can you tell when you booked ecosport and also got the delivery? I had booked 40 days from pune before but ahowroom guys says i have to wait for 3 more months. This is really sucking yaar

    Sachin Ravindra Sinnarkar |02 Aug,2013 04:34:05 PM

I completely agree with you Vijay! I test draove ecoboost petrol & eagerly awaiting its delivery.

    gaurav |07 Feb,2015 08:48:06 PM

Hi vijai..I m bit confused in eco sport and city diesel ..I had booked eco..Could u help me out which one is better option.

    Chandan Sharma |13 Jul,2013 08:10:44 AM

Hey..Ecosport is not a bad deal..just look at reviews of auto-xperts ..they say its a great compact SuV..even auto car made ecosport a winner over Duster...Man they are experts.and Ford is know for giving excellent driving aspects to their makes. i booked 1.5P Trend and remember ford have made a excellent pricing.

    s sampige |27 Aug,2013 11:46:08 AM

just dont do that. The review is by a person who just test drove it with premeditated liking for Duster. In fact, there are more negative comments on Duster also.

  • Parvez khan |08 Jul,2013 01:34:01 AM

vijay u r right he is just saying becz he own duster even i have test drive both the car and duster suck big time i have not bought any of this car but i would say ecosports win 9/10 and duster 6/10

    Ashutosh Pandey |09 Jul,2013 05:01:09 PM

agreed parvez...duster is nowhere standing if we compare it with ecosport, duster has got compromised with its quality part big time and u wont be able to feel any luxury as well.. i would suggest rather seeing the reviews go for the test drive thn you will feel the difference....

  • s.k.verma |08 Jul,2013 09:50:04 AM

Dear Parvez, i have also test driven both the cars and both are having own merit and demerit. If you want to use your car in city then Ecosport is preferable otherwise Duster. Duster steering is somewhat hard but pickup is very good with revolution. Ecosport is a compact SUV and designed with great precesion.

    nitin deora |09 Jul,2013 01:13:19 PM

hi all.. so i am saying duster is better because i own one.... and all the people above say ecosport is better not because they booked one but because it is really awesome.... LOL... very right... duster is a contemporary SUV,, with plain jane interiors and exteriors... ecosport is beefed up figo with fiesta interiors... i remember somebody writing that the test drive vehicle is tuned for more economy(Vijay - the Test Drive vehicles will be always less in terms of acceleration in order to improve the mileage)... i really doubt that... they wud do that for more performance if possible to alter the ECU....

    sam |18 Jul,2013 11:50:09 PM

oh c'mon nitin ecosports is not at all beefed up its a great compact suv with a good engine stop sulking. its ok, jst bcoz ur ass is in a deemed duster don't push others towards the same pit...duster is a heap of ugly shit...accept it. lol

    Awadesh |13 Aug,2013 04:26:15 PM

The test vehicle are always tuned for more power and not to mileage, as one goes for the test drive you only check the feel and the acceleration and not the mileage.

I am a NRI living in Australia and i was looking for a good, stylish safe and secure car like what we get in Australia but couldn't find any cars around 9-11 laks budget. Even innova which cost 14 lakhs got only 2 airbags and not much safety features. After livng in australia for a while i have learned one thing Safety first. I am very happy that ecosport gives 6 airbag which is common in Top countries like US and Australia provide in their cars. I have met in an accident 1.5 years ago and curtain airbag on the side saved my life in my toyota prado here in Australia. Also features like EBD, ABS, HLA, TSC etc are really important. If you pay money , you have to look at many features too not just the size of the car. Auto climate control is a must in indian weather. Cooled glocebox adds luxury. Cant realy compare OLD Duster with ecosport. Duster is just a big piece of shit. if you are looking at the size of the car go for an ambassidor. Any way i ahve found what i have looking for. Thanks ford for your the real invention for india.

  • kumar |09 Jul,2013 02:45:12 PM

better compare with duster , i drove the duster duster is just like swift no engine power and pick up and suitable for high way its a city car , small engine capicity, its a not a Suv , fur better than duster eco sport.

Is it really true, I doubt tht.......but he said the 200mm ground clearance and short length is risky.Or he is taking me for a ride to sell his Polo :O.Iam really worried as I want to buy this car asap.

    nitin |09 Jul,2013 10:31:37 PM

Hi sandeep... ecosport is a gud car for its price... stop comparing.... buy it if u like it and it suit's ur needs.... comparing it to duster or any other car is no gud... every car is capable In its own way

    sandeep |09 Jul,2013 11:35:00 PM

thanks, will keep that in mind sir.

    rahul |12 Jul,2013 08:47:31 PM

Go ahead and buy it. I've been driving ecosport for 2 weeks now (30th june onwards) and it is running like a beauty. I agree Duster is a decent Car but Value for Ecosport - looks features and performance and comfort , is far greater than Duster can ever match. rest is ur personal choice

  • MN Menon |09 Jul,2013 10:50:40 PM

I'd like to hear from someone owning an Ecosport...but, sir, pls be frank..i'm planning to own one..

  • Anuj |09 Jul,2013 11:11:04 PM

Does anyone have any opinions on the difference between 1.5 L petrol and 1 L Petrol Titanium Ecosport models ? Will the 1 L engine be powerful enough in long drives and on the highway or will it lose out to the 1.5 L engine. The specifications of the 1 L are pretty impressive (torque). Looking forward to some good opinions on this one.

    Vijay |10 Jul,2013 12:45:28 PM

1 L petrol - is good in highway, 1.5 L is good in city traffic & normal driving. If you drive beyong 150 KMPH, then 1 Lt engine is for you. This is because the turbo lag initially, after that it is a rocket.

    Anuj |11 Jul,2013 10:51:15 PM

Thanks Vijay. I am mostly a city driver so I guess the 1.5 L is better. I heard that the I L gives very fuel economy with upto 19 Km/L. Is there a huge difference between this and the 1.5 L version?

  • michael joseph |10 Jul,2013 12:56:02 PM

frnds listen to ur own heart and choice of ur brain...then buy a car and enjoy it...bcoz car brands are spent very large amount of money pn their cars and engeeners are very hardworker to make a set of car and desined the car...so go ahead..God bls u all...thnku

  • A W |10 Jul,2013 01:32:18 PM

I am planing to buy this new Eccosport car itsok for me bcs this is first 4wheel for me

  • Ajay |10 Jul,2013 08:28:30 PM

Hi, iam not comparing it to duster or i20 both the cars r completely diffrerent.Duster is plain Vanilla SUV not bad at all.I dont know how it is.....but hearing abt hard clutch hard steer etc. Anyway i want to buy Ecosport.I hve zeroed in on Ecosport ,Dezire or toyota Etios. can anyone ple guide me which wll b the best for me.I am a enthu driver self drive. The problem is tat on the base model Ecosport guys thr is no Fanatics like ECOBOOST engie. It is thr only on the 7 lacs+ model. Also base models of dezire n etios offer less features, but u can always get VXi middle trim for a few bucks more or get it from the acessory shop :)

  • manish Sinha |10 Jul,2013 11:42:22 PM

I have observed some minor short falls 1.Fuel tank lid lock is very poor in quality ( No effort required to tamper) 2.Base/mid models do not have roof rails and front chrome grills. Still worth having one as the ride quality and comfort is excellent.

  • P.K. Ghosh |12 Jul,2013 11:57:46 AM

the question on 2nd row seat's thigh support has been raised. How serious is it on a long drive, can any one tell me. Presently I travel on my Idica V2 on the long drive, the back seats are resonabely comfortable. Is Ecosports back seats will be less comfortable?

  • asim |14 Jul,2013 11:49:03 PM

the exteriors are good but the interiors are really cramped.the cockpit dashboard looks great but has taken all the space in front. seats are narrow and headroom is just about ok. rear seats are also cramped.before taking a decision kindly sit in the fiesta aswell so that u can feel and compare the cramped interiors

  • JASVIR |15 Jul,2013 02:13:42 PM

i want to exchane my fiat linea with ecosport, can anybody help me about this, thanks

  • saurabh |16 Jul,2013 07:21:35 PM

Obviously after buying Duster and burning 2 lac extra anybody would say that...Nobody wants to be proved as a fool...Guys, I would only say one thing, watch the auto reviews in any channel and they would tell you that go for Ecosport even if it is 1 lac cheaper. I have seen Duster interiors, it doesnt look like a 10 L car from any angle. Doors are just thin metal sheets. Which car now a days has door color overlooking u inside the cabin?? It looks cheap from every angle once u sit inside. Ok, I understand ecosport has smaller width giving it less room but it has equivalent Leg space as duster. I had booked Duster but took my money back after Ecosport was launched. Ford also has better credibility in Indian market..As far as Renault is concerned, look at user reviews and u ll know the reality. I have seen many Duster owners going and having a look at Ecosport, coming out with a heavy heart and saying You know what, we got a real SUV what they dont sayc is that it doesnt have airbags, Sync, Plush interiors, etc etc etc...In Brasil, ES has given Duster a run for its money and soon its gonna happen in India..U be happy or sulk in anger, thats reality and u will know it...

    Manish |17 Jul,2013 10:23:05 PM

Well u said their heart's cry...lol i agree 2 lacs more just for a few cms' space and no features..come on anyone cant be that fool :P fcking jealous duster owners...renault aftr sale service is tooo bad n expensive.. ford is in india since long tym and needs low maintenance and parts are not expensive of ES...see the records of booking 30,000 is 17 days...result is in ur front... duster owners are jealous and nothing else...i dont own any... if u dun wanna listen mine point check youtube and u will know...there are many many vids comparing them....just a little extra space can make a car win....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Saurabh Jain |18 Jul,2013 02:08:19 AM

On top of that they cant even sell theirs to buy a new ES as not all are fools ;-)...Sometimes, u just have to wait to get something better...I just wanna ask Duster owners why they are going and checking ES if they are so happy with their big boy, after all winners dont need a stamp, do they???

    Khan |20 Jul,2013 12:18:22 AM

i read in some of the reviews that the fuel consumption of Ford Ecosport is far too higher than the actual claims by the company. one of the reviewers at 'car wale' has given numbing figures of 5 for ecoboost engine, while most of them are saying 12 km per liter for the diesel one. the actual users are requested to kindly verify and inform.

    Himmat |20 Aug,2013 11:24:56 AM

it is better if you cheak real fuel consumption after 2,500 kms. specially for ford cars

  • Parvez khan |19 Jul,2013 11:34:35 PM

well said manish on youtube not even single car experts saying that duster is better and in duster there r 2 variants one 85 bhp other one 110 bhp, 85 is 2.5l expensive and 110 bhp is 3.5L expensive and if u check 110 bhp is not even close to ES forget about 85 bhp one

    Parvez khan |19 Jul,2013 11:40:32 PM

sorry well said saurabh not manish

  • Sukrit |26 Jul,2013 10:10:31 PM

Test drove the duster and believe me its clutch and steering is way tooooooo hard. Also it doesn't have the linear acceleration and picks up only after 1800 rpm. Interior is just basic like i10( Beige interiors doesn't guarantee rich feel) . Basic features are available only in top end. Overall Duster is just a car with lot of space. Spending 10Lac or more doesn't justify instead i would prefer buying Verna which is better in all respect though its a sedan. Duster has only advantage of being the first comer in the market

  • Manish |27 Jul,2013 09:14:33 PM

Test drove the Ford Ecosport today both petrol & diesel. Overall complete package is awesome, one will not get disappoint after having bought it.

    Shalabh Kesarwani |09 Oct,2013 09:17:12 AM

Dear Mr. Kumar, Car is being used for transportation duly stuffed with comfort, safety, style and status. One need to check the balance of that and decided. If you are fond of SUV go for it. Else for medical professional to cover distance of total 10 KM per day, petrol car with stuffed features would be best option.

  • Sony |02 Sep,2013 01:04:11 AM

Duster owners are crying now seeing futuristic and flamboyant Ecosport on road. Ecosport is a true urban SUV with right size for city driving. Sales figures in Brazil & India says it all..... Now Renault has to do some immediate damage control to bring some life back to outdated and over priced so called Duster.....

Guys, I've been driving the ecosport diesel for the last 8 months.. Its a peach of a car.. It beats duster handsdown in every aspect.. Duster is for old hags.. eco is for the young and stylish.. Its an international design unlike a duster which looks like a 1960's model from the inside and the outside. So all you jokers trying to say duster is a better car.. get a fuc***g life.. LOL..

  • gaurav |07 Feb,2015 08:46:38 PM

Hi everyone...Recently I booked Ford Ecosport Titanium Diesel..I liked the looks but interior is not too attractive..No doubt the car is sporty. I heard from someone that the maintainence of Ford is costlier nd spares are not available easily..Is it true?

  • Sudhakar |17 Feb,2015 11:08:27 PM

I have purchased eco sport titanium option, it's superb but I feel that there's some engine noise. The service and sales is very very worst. There's no response from the sales and the service persons. No communication at all..... from sarvesh ford, vellore
