Saw the new Ford EcoSport facelift at a dealership the other day, it looked quite similar to the old one. But what caught my attention was its new front, with that big grill flanked with big chunky headlamps, it looks angry. The new 17-inch alloy also adds to its imposing presence. Inside the car, it was a surprise, the cabin has gone through a serious makeover. Now, dash looks clean and well sorted and those single tone interiors look premium and sporty. That 8-inch touchscreen dominates the central console and is really good and snappy. It is equipped with SYNC 3 which brings Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The seats are really comfortable and that AC really works. On the safety front, this car is loaded. You get features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags, crash unlocking system as standard across the range while the top-spec variant gets additional features like side and curtain airbags, EBA, ESC, TCS, HLA, cruise control and ISOFIX. The EcoSport is now powered by Ford?s new Dragon series 1.5-litre petrol engine along with same old 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along while a 6-speed automatic transmission is offered with the petrol engine only. All in all, the car is a complete package and you can?t ignore this if you are looking to buy a new compact SUV.
