Pros : Funky Stylish Stylish Look, Affordable price tag

Cons : None

Beat is a great compact car with excellent mileage and space. This car exactly explains “small things comes in good packesges”. While looking at the car you feel it is small but you will be astonished to see the space in the cabin area. It was difficult to decide which car to choose since there are a lot of options available now. Chevrolet Beat however has always been my favorite. But I wanted to evaluate the rest of the cars in that range , in order to get the best deal. I finally decided to buy Chevrolet Beat since it is a fuel efficient car.Look and StyleThe sporty looking hatchback can accommodate five people comfortably. It seem as if someone is driving a mini CRV.ComfortThe small car beat others in the segment in terms of comfort and space. Looks mini but has abundant space. Five adults can easily suave in with enough space at the rear. The boot is good too with ample of space to keep alot of luggage.Pick UpThe pick up of Chevrolet beat is great even when the ac is on. This time it was alot of cold in my city but still never had issues in initial start ups also. The car does not even give jerks while changing gears which i heard from my friends in their cars. Beat can speed up to 125 to 130 kmph easily.MileageThe small car comes with great fuel economy offering an excellent mileage of 14.5 kmpl in the heavy town road traffic and on the highways it gives 18.5 kmpl. I mostly switch on the ac in my car and still it gives great mileage.Best FeaturesThe car looks simply amazing it has a great compact size, from the exterior it looks very small but trust me when you look inside the car it is a totally opposite scenario. Front Fog lamps, height adjustable front headrest, also central lock, climate control air con, and much more. The seat are very comfortable, cup holders in the door trims, vanity mirrors comes in beat.Needs to ImproveI don't think any other car in this small segment can be as good as beat. It does not need any improvements.Overall ExperienceThe car is great in handling and driving both on city and highway. The ac is great and with various small spaces given for putting different things is great. Very spacious for 5 people, it looks sporty gives great mileage and driving experience.

Few tips... 1. Always try to fuel up your car early in the morning... (might sound silly) But try fueling at 5 or 6 am as soon as bunk starts operating. This reduces in collecting residues and impurities in storage tanks in bunks. 2. Never fuel up in a bunk if you see a tanker lorry docking. refilling stirs up impurities in the tank which inevitably settles in your cylinders. 3. Use fan (switch off A/C) while in signals... idle running is usually 800rpm... if a/c is ON it draws more fuel to power up the condenser for the a/c while trying to maintain 800rpm. this is not a problem for the engine while at higher rpms. Our car is the only one in its class which is equipped with EFD. each cylinder has 2 intake and 2 exhaust valves. when engine senses idling it cuts off 1 intake and 1 exhaust to conserve fuel. if a/c is on... it puts more load on them. 4. Never use speed/ extramile/ power petrol. Those additives create moisture formation at fuel pumps . Instead Use Bardhal Fuel additive every 3000kms. 20ml costs 50bucks or so. 5. Always shift to 2nd gear between 10-15kmph. 1st gear fuel consumption is the highest.use 5th only if you cross 50kmph. This is what I do. 16kmpl in city. 18 in HW with a/c. 20-21 if a/c is of in HW

hi every one.. i want to chose a car for my parents. They barely use it..may be 20 km in a week.. so, stuck with the petrol version.. We statrted considering Chevy Beat LT(o) at first.. then vame Ford Figo titanium (petrol).. then VW polo comfortline (petrol) and later it was Hyundai i20 sports petrol.. seriously confused among these.. swift was ommited coz of its common nature.. Fabia was out of question due to its expensive maintenance... Pls do advice me on this problem.. my contact num is 9656666080.... thnku...

Dude, There is no point in getting confused, Just do a simple Do by yourself-Exercise and you will find the answer. Just pull out a sheet of paper & list out all the features offered by the above stated Top-end models, then simply compare it across by cancelling out the common features & finally you have a few unique ones left. now you just need to think over the cost difference & the options hope it makes your life simpler. Moreover if you wish to have a skip for the above exercise, Shut your eyes and go for a Chevy BEAT..... its Unbeatable :P @ Brij Bhushan... 1 simple thing Resist yourself from standing on that Gas pedal & you will be rewarded in good numbers for a roll :P

Dude...! I own a Beat I would totally recommend it. But as you said its for your parents... Figo has nice boot space which totally is compromised in beat. Never ever go for POLO... my Boss got it for his son. It vibrates like a diesel car coz its a 3cylinder engine and gives 9 - 11 kmpl.all others in this class are 4 cylinders. Very less legroom for front row seats. you cant open the front utility box if a person sits in the front seat. Just the name VW and Polo wont do no good. I would recommend Figo only coz of its boot space. If else just go for Beat.

The requirement is 20 km a week. How about contacting a good taxi service? No need to get another car where your parents are likely to be stuck in a traffic jam.

  • Arul |24 Mar,2011 10:10:03 PM

I took the test drive. so many features and advantages are saying by the company nothing to be found after the test drive. Same i10, swift and wagonR. There are some little bit difference. The only one from BEAT that s wonderful look and style.
