Innova 2.5 GX (Diesel) 8 Seater Review

One of the largest automaker in the world, Toyota has rolled out the facelifted version of its flagship MPV model Toyota Innova in India. This facelifted version of Toyota has been rolled out in three trim levels with seven and eight seater option out of which, Toyota Innova GX (diesel) 8 seater trim is the entry level trim and it is powered by the BSIV based 2.5-litre engine that comes with a total displacement capacity of about 2494cc and produce great power while yielding commanding torque. This facelifted version has received quite a lot of tweaks on both its front and rear ends. The front end of this MPV received a new bolder design radiator grille along with a brand new design bumper and improved headlight cluster that changes the overall frontage. Coming to the interior cabin section, this MPV has received a slightly improved cabin with plush environment that would make the journey luxurious and quite comfortable. No update has been given to the overall technical specifications or mechanism of this MPV. The safety and security features of this particular trim are top rated as the Toyota bestowed this four wheeler GOA body design that offers unparalleled protection to the occupants inside.

 

Exteriors :

 

Coming to the exterior design and styling, the new Toyota Innova 2.5 GX (Diesel) 8 Seater trim comes with a contemporary body design and style. Its front facade is blessed with a trendy design headlight cluster that has sharp edges, which makes it look aggressive. This headlight cluster surrounds the large radiator grille that is painted in body color. The design of the radiator grille is bolder and more expressive that changes the view of entire front profile. Just below this radiator grille there is a body colored bumper that has been equipped with fog lights and air dam. The company has fitted the body colored chin guard adds to the sporty appeal of this MPV. The side profile of this MPV remains entirely the same as the existing version and it is blessed with body colored side moldings, door handles and the ORVMs . The wheel arches have been bestowed with 15 inch steel wheels covered with full wheel caps that completes the side profile. The rear profile of this MPV gets the improved design taillight cluster along with a rear garnish with reflectors fitted on the boot lid. The design of the rear bumper too gets the re-treatment that changes the overall view of this four wheeler.

 

Interiors :

 

The interior design of the facelifted Toyota Innova is quite beautiful that will offer a pleasant feel to all the occupants inside. The cabin space is incredible and it will provide seating for about seven passengers with 2+3+3 seating arrangement. The seats fitted inside the cabin are very wide and have been covered with premium fabric upholstery. The design of the dashboard is quite attractive and it has been bestowed with sophisticated equipments such as instrument cluster, air conditioner and so on. There is a four-spoke that is decorated beautifully with chrome plated company logo on top of it. The Toyota Innova GX (Diesel) 8 Seater trim is powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, in-line diesel power plant that is accompanied with a turbocharger and incorporated with a common rail fuel injection system. This engine has the ability to produce 2494cc of displacement capacity that enables the engine to churn out a maximum 100.6bhp of power at 3600rpm while generating 200 Nm of peak torque in between 1200 rpm to 3600rpm. This engine went through the Bharat Stage IV emission norms and complied with it, which means better performance, low carbon emission and improved fuel efficiency. The company has fitted this engine with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that powers the front wheels of this MPV and returns a great mileage of about 12.99 Kmpl.

 

Braking and Handling :

 

The facelifted version of the Toyota Innova is blessed with a proficient braking mechanism in the form of disc and drum braking combination. The disc brakes are fitted to the front wheels while the drum brakes are equipped to the rear wheels. These brakes gain further assistance from the advanced anti-lock braking system that prevents the locking of wheels and enhances the braking mechanism.
