One of the most highly acclaimed home bred passenger car manufacturer, Tata Motors has launched the facelifted version of its flagship compact sedan Tata Indigo eCS. This sub 4 meter length sedan has done decent business in the Indian market but heavy competition has created problems for its sales in the segment. In what seems like a bid to improve its sales, the company has introduced a refined version of the Tata Indigo eCS compact sedan model lineup for the Indian automobile bazaar. Along with this compact sedan, the company has given updates to five of its models including Tata Indica, Tata Sumo and the amazing Tata Nano as well. The company has done a quite some impressive changes to its interiors and its technicalities. Also, the new Tata Indigo eCS compact sedan gets some major cosmetic updates in the form of a newly designed radiator grille, a sleek head lamp cluster and few others. The facelifted version looks much better than its previous model. The company has given cosmetic updates to all is existing variants available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The Tata Indigo eCS LS TDI BSIII is the entry level diesel variant in its portfolio, which is available for an attractive price tag. This will allow the facelifted version of Tata Indigo eCS to give tough competition to the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, and several others in the segment. Technically, this new compact sedan gets a new F type gearbox and a new type of suspension system that adds to its stability and fuel efficiency. There is no doubt that this compact sedan is going to make its mark in the sub 4 meter sedan segment.

Exteriors:

One of the most popular automaker in India, Tata Motors has made quite a few changes to the Tata Indigo eCS compact sedan series, which makes it look refreshing. The exterior design of this sub 4 meter length sedan is refreshing with a bit of premium cues at its front fascia. This entry level diesel variant has got major changes on both the front and rear, while the side profile remains simple and decent. Tata Motors is offering this entry level compact sedan with state-of-the-art exteriors that will surely grab your attention. At its front, it gets a new diamond shaped radiator grille with chrome garnish and with the company logo incorporated on it. Its front facade will now host a smoked design head lamp cluster with integrated turn indicators on to it. The front body colored bumper has an air dam incorporated in it. On its side profile, its wheel arches have been fitted with a robust set of 14 inch steel rims that are further equipped with 175/65 R 14 size tubeless radial tyres. On its rear, it gets a slightly revamped tail lamp cluster with integrated turn indicators and courtesy lights. The overall look of this facelift compact sedan is very decent that will definitely attract the customers.

Interiors:

This time around, this facelifted Tata indigo eCS TDI BSIII trim gets plush interiors with some major changes inside. Now with all the major changes, entry level trim looks much better than its precursor. This Tata Indigo eCS trim gets a stylish dual toned interior with an advanced OCTA instrument cluster that brings elegance to the interior. On the other side, this entry level compact sedan has been offered with Anti Acoustic chamber that keeps the noise out from reaching inside. Apart from this, the inside section of this sedan gets top class fabric upholstery, theater dimming interior lights, front power outlet, vanity mirror on co-driver's side, coin and pen holder in glove box, a four spoke power steering wheel and several other features. This company sedan comes under 4 meter length, which is about 3988 mm, but there is a decent amount of space inside that can provide comfortable seating space for five passengers. The company has designed this compact sedan with an impressive wheel base of 2450mm, which gives more space for the passengers inside.

The company has launched the facelifted Tata Indigo eCS LS TDI BSIII trim with a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine that has the ability to produce a superior power and torque. At the same time, it also produces superior mileage, which is the best in class. This facelifted, entry level compact sedan is blessed with a 1.4-litre TDi turbocharged diesel engine which has 1405cc of displacement capacity. This engine has the ability to churn out a 69bhp at 4500rpm and produces a maximum 135Nm of torque output at 2500rpm. This turbocharged diesel engine has been mated to an advanced five speed F-Shift (TA65 cable shift) gearbox that transmits the power through the front wheels and improves the fuel efficiency.

Braking and Handling:

The company has incorporated superior braking and handling aspects to this entry level compact sedan. The company has not compromised on the most significant braking and handling aspects of this entry level trim. This facelifted Tata Indigo eCS LS TDI BSIII gets a technically advanced braking and handling mechanism. The front wheels of this compact sedan is equipped with ventilated disc brakes, while the rear wheels have been fitted with drum brakes type of mechanism. On the other hand, the front axle of this trim has been fitted with an independent McPherson Strut suspension assisted by coil springs. At the rear, it gets an independent 3-link McPherson Strut with an anti-roll bar type of suspension system.
