Discovery Sport 2015-2020 TD4 S Review

Land Rover Discovery Sport TD4 S is the entry level variant of the model series. Despite this, it is graced with a generous list of features and as a result, it does not lack on the element of comfort, nor on its inner and outer cosmetics. Starting with the cabin, this vehicle has the capacity to seat five adults. It takes care of children needs, with ISOFIX anchors, as well as other locking systems. The company has modeled the cabin with a range of plush design elements. The multi functional steering wheel gets an attractive design and has mounted buttons for various use. There are rich detailing factors that include accents and fine materials, which together provide a premium drive environment for the occupants. Coming to the outer facet, it has a broad and muscular poise that is tailored for a sporty edge as well. There are many eye catching factors in its exterior design, from a well designed grille to a rear spoiler. Powering the machine is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that takes it to a top speed of 180 Kmph, which is rather good considering its size and heft. Another appraised factor is its acceleration rate, as it can rush from stall to 100 Kmph in just 10.3 seconds, a feat very few SUVs might have claimed. Its speed capacity is supported with the presence of good safety elements as well. Besides having a sound braking and suspension arrangement, it also offers airbags, seatbelts, powerful lamps, a rear fog lamp and many other important safety measures, ensuring that its performance and look are matched by its most important necessity.

Exteriors:

The vehicle has a large and robust stance that is further enhanced with fine detailing elements. Starting off with the frontage, the hood is large and muscular, and the sweeping lines further add to its appeal. The frontage has a majestic grille with Brunel finish for a more expensive look. The sleek headlamp cluster on either side have been incorporated with daytime running lights, giving apt visibility when driving. The wide air intake section at the bottom emphasizes its sporty look, and aids in cooling its engine. By the side, there are body colored door handles that go in unison with the rest of the body. The flawless curvatures and the subtle body lines further underscore the car's magnificent design. The wheel fenders are good looking, and the side fender vents are also graced with a premium Brunel finish. The large wheels and the neatly designed rims further enhance the image. The black highlights on the window pillars also add a unique touch to its look. The outside mirrors are equipped with trendy looking Navik black caps. The car's muscular stance is balanced with a more toned rear portion. It has a short spoiler at the rear that boosts its sporty picture. The tail lights are intricately designed, and there are courtesy lights and turn indicators for safety value. The exhaust vents on either side finish the machine's visual feat.

Interiors:

This SUV conditions a fine atmosphere for its occupants, with a cabin that is fulfilled on looks as well as utility functions. There are two rows of seats, giving apt space for five adults within it. The seat arrangement offers good space for all of the occupants, while the sound ergonomic design ensures that the comfort factor is not left out. Beside this, headrests are present for all of the rows offering optimum comfort. A center armrest is present for the front row, promoting convenient arm placement. Coming to the detailing aspects, the seats are covered in premium upholstery for a more expensive ride feel. In addition to this, a fine paint coats the door grabs, the C pillar and the center stack verticals.

This variant is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine under diesel. It has a displacement capacity of 2179cc, and comes along with a turbocharger for optimal power output. It consists of four cylinders integrated together based on a proven DOHC valve configuration. Coming to its specifications, it produces a power of 148bhp at 4000rpm along with a torque of 400Nm at 1750rpm. The engine is paired with a nine speed automatic transmission that facilitates smoother shifting and better performance.
