We have a 1.2 Petrol Polo (purchased Aug 2012) that exhibits excessive vibration when starting up and accelerating. It almost sounds like we are driving a diesel car. Is this an inherent problem in the Polo? Secondly, we have read on your forums that the Polo is due to be phased out. Is there any truth to that rumour? Thank you.
Hi even i do own a 1.2 Petrol Polo that exhibits the kind of vibration you are refering to. I would certainly be raising this issue with the VW India group since the car neither delivers a proper mileage when driven in traffic conditions nor does it have a feel good factor while driving. I think it is a manufacturing defect which they as a company are trying to hide. I think all the customers who are facing this issue should collectively take legal recourse against this company and ask them to refund us the amount paid towards buying this vehicle along with damages.
When i had taken a test drive i never felt anything wrong. The sales executive had said that the car would certainly give a mileage between 10 to 11 kmpl in proper city traffic conditions. I would like to ask the VW Group what is the purpose of buying a car that feels like a tractor while accelarating and which does not even deliver a proper mileage in city driving inspite of being a 3 cylinder engine

Hey Kapil, Thank you for getting in touch with us. Yes, not having ABS can be a factor affecting the final decision. Going with your requirements and budget, you can also have a look at Maruti Baleno. This car comes with standard features like Dual Airbag, ABS and EBD. Rest, as per the performance, Volkwagen Polo is pretty good. You can have a look at the comparison by clicking here.

Volkswagen recommends Mobil 1 New life 0W-40 fully synthetic engine oil and it will cost you Rs. 5400 for 4-litre pack. While, if you go for a mineral engine oil, you can get it around Rs. 2000, but we will suggest you to go with the synthetic engine oil.
The waiting period on the Volkswagen Polo GT TDi is 1 month. But, this may vary depending on your location, the color of the car you want and the dealership. The waiting period could vary from dealer to dealer.
