Volkswagen Beetle is costly because of Indian Government laws. All foreign cars imported into India have a heavy customs duty that makes the price 2 times the normal price. Beetle is being imported in India and not being manufactured in India which makes the price tag really high ! Imagine the people in America and Germany buy this same car at half the price while having much higher salaries. Indians are made to pay so much for the same car. Unfair, but thats how life is :)

Hi shaukat, Volkswagen Beetle is most awaited vehicle and it has all luxurious features and it also comes with 2.0 L engine with automatic transmission. Thank You
The engine offers a mileage of around 9kmpl in urban roads while on highway it gives a mileage of around 13kmpl. To keep things balanced both fuel options will be introduced, in the diesel fleet a 2.0-litre TDI turbo engine which is capable of producing 138bhp will be brought on board whereas in the petrol line-up a 2.0-litre TSI Turbocharged petrol powertrain which is capable of churning 197bhp will be introduced.
As of now there is no official information from the company regarding diesel version, we would let you know as soon as we get the information.
