With the facelift, the new Rapid now comes with sharp and chiselled body lines that run throughout the length of the car. Also, it receives new bumpers at both ends. The front grille design, flanked by new headlamp units, follows the brand’s current design language that can be seen on the Octavia and Superb.
Under the hood, Skoda will continue to offer the Rapid with both petrol and diesel engine options. For the petrol variant, the company is likely to continue using the same 1.6-litre motor without any changes. However, for the diesel variant, the car will come with the updated 1.5-litre engine that currently has been introduced in the Ameo diesel. The engine features a slightly larger turbocharger that has been locally sourced and ups the power output to 110PS. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both petrol and diesel variant while a 7-speed DSG gearbox will be available only in the diesel variant.
On the price front, expect the Rapid facelift to carry a price tag that will be higher than the current pricing. For more information, click here "Facelifted Skoda Rapid Launching On November 3".

It is great that you wish to buy a new car, Congratulations!! There have been some slight cosmetic changes in the new variants of Skoda rapid. The name has been changed from Elegance to Ambition and there are some slight changes in the features too like the dual airbag, rain sensing wipers etc. Going for an older variant would depreciate the value of the vehicle. If you are fine with the depreciation, going for the previous variant with such a price seems to be like a fair deal.
Hi, This is Abarna. my query will be little lengthier, but I don't have option to avoid. We are planning to buy a new car. Initially we planned to get hatchback and its coming almost 7 lakhs with decent features. so we checked amaze and sail sedan cars as well, its coming around 8-9 lakhs with same features. so we planned to go for sedan model. My requirements are 1. I will drive 4-5 members every weekend. In City, we will be 2 members. 2. we expect average mileage(between these cars) and mainly maintenance cost should be decent(includes spare parts/resale value/etc) I got 2 queries on selecting the car. 1. Petrol/Diesel 2. Sedan which car Petrol/Diesel : Mostly we will drive on every weekend to go to home-town around 250km in city say 200km will come around 1200-1500 KM/month(max). so, which fuel car would be best to buy in terms of km I drive
Hi Abarna, Your monthly run is actually quite a lot, so we would advise you to go for Diesel variant. The four most prominent cars in your requirement are the Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and the new Tata Zest. Honda Amaze has amazing build quality and most power among all of them. But, the engine noise quite high which might get irritating. Hyundai Xcent comes with maximum features and is quite a nice ride. Swift is a nice package. It has very nice ride and also quite equipped.
