The Reva I houses a 48 v lead acid battery, that helps it churn out the maximum of 52Nm of torque, thus pretty good in drivability. It takes about 8 hours to charge it completely, and in return, it will take you around 80 kms. It actually doesn't require so much maintenance, it just needs to be charged regularly.
The only problem that it has is the battery life, the warranty offered on the battery by the company is about 3 years. During the warranty period the car owner can get that repaired, once the warranty period lapses, he will have to buy a new one, which costs around Rs 86000 in Delhi.
The problem can be because of two reasons, first the sensor that checks the battery level is having some malfunction or something went wrong with your on-board electricals. We will advise you to call your service center and schedule a check-up for your car. So, the problem can be fixed as soon as possible.
We are sorry to hear about your physical condition and we would suggest you to buy Mahindra e2o as its an electric car and we are suggesting you this because Mahindra Reva's production has already been stalled by the company.
