Maruti Baleno 1.2 CVT and Maruti Baleno 1.2 CVT Delta:

Both the cars are similar in terms of mechanism, features and other aspects. The only difference is,  Maruti Baleno 1.2 CVT Delta is paired with a continuously variable transmission gear box that further improves the delivery of power and torque output.

Which one will be better? It is a matter of personal preference. The points which are covered below will help you to take a final decision.

There are several advantages of an automatic car over a manual transmission car. The main advantage of an automatic car is the driving comfort. This driving comfort of an automatic car in a traffic jam has to be experienced for you to know what you have been missing. No more being so tired while driving through the constant traffic jams in the Cities of India, because you do not have to be pressing the clutch and changing gears all the time.

Apart from the driving comfort, the other advantage of automatic cars is that the maintenance cost of an automatic gear car could be lesser than a manual car over the lifetime of the car. This is because the gears are changed automatically at the correct engine RPM and speeds and the driving is always very smooth without any jerks. This contributes to longer life of the drive train parts of the car including longer tyre life.

Disadvantage:

Driving a vehicle with a CVT is a very different experience and many drivers to not like it because you do not feel the engine accelerating; you do not feel any shifts instead you feel the engine racing as it would with a slipping clutch or a failing transmission which is just the CVT adjusting to provide optimal power.

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Manual Transmission:

Advantages:

1. Easier to maintain: Since they are less complex than automatics, there is less of a chance for something to go wrong. The clutch is the only item that generally needs repair, but for the most part that isn't needed for hundreds of thousands of miles.

2. Use of gear or engine oil: This fluid deteriorates less quickly and doesn't require frequent changes.

3. Cheaper: In general, brand-new stick shift vehicles are cheaper than their automatic counterparts.

Disadvantages:

1. Difficulty on hills: Stopping on a hill and starting again can be inconvenient as well as scary. Since the vehicle rolls back, drivers have rolled into traffic or stalled.

2. Pain from the clutch. Your left leg will be in constant use when driving a stick shift car. Over time, it can mess with the joints in the leg.

Thank you for considering us worthy enough to address your concern & writing to us.

It's good to hear that you wish to know about a car & thank you for making us a part of it.

There are ample of options available in different price range and segment like Renault KWID, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Ertiga etc.

You may also apply filters to refine your search and can shortlist some of the options from the lot.

Coming to the query, not only for women but for all the novice, Hatchback makes more sense as it becomes easy to manoeuvre i.e. drive in stop-and-go traffic, park in a compact space & much more.

We must state it clearly that eliminating the tough and heavy SUVs in this list doesn’t mean that women are not able to drive such kind of vehicles. In fact, from a Nano to an XUV500, a woman can efficiently pull off anything that she wants to. However, we would suggest to pick a small car in case the driver / women doesn't have a good hold at driving.

Over and above that, the cars in the domestic market have several options for the transmission to choose from like manual, AMT (automated manual transmission), AT etc.

Every one of us knows that traffic is becoming an ever increasing pain. It does not matter how quick your manual gearbox responds or how reliable it is when you get stuck in a huge traffic jam and suffer excruciating pain in your left leg constantly depressing the clutch.

So, if the person will be driving more in heavy city traffic then we suggest you to opt for Automated Manual Transmission(AMT) which are easier to use and more comfortable for the driver, while Manual Transmission vehicles are less expensive more involved & are more fun to drive on highways.

As new car purchase would depend on a lot of factors like budget, segment or brand preference, transmission , fuel type, specific feature requirement etc.
Hence, we request you to share your inputs so that we can assist you in right direction.

If you will be driving around 50-70 KM's.(approx.) a day, we will suggest you to go with diesel car. Otherwise, if your driving will be less, than you can opt for petrol car.

  • Need your expert suggestion. I recently bought Maruti Dzire VXI, drove it for approx 300 km. When I drive at 60khph or above speed, the wind sound inside the car feels much louder than expected (at least its more than my previous Tata diesel car). Is it a problem with this model, manufacturing defect or may be a because of new car!!

Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a premium hatchback and although it stacks under 4-metre of length (3995 mm), its 1745 mm wide cabin makes it quite a large car. Baleno’s cabin too is impressive and the minimalistic design of the dash augers very well. Even the rear seat of Baleno is surprisingly roomier for a hatchback.

Under the hood, the Baleno is offered with a choice of a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine and a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine. While the petrol Baleno is capable of making 85 PS/115 Nm, the diesel Baleno puts out 75 PS/190 Nm of raw performance.

    Maruti Baleno Specifications

The hatchback is offered with a choice of three engine options. If you like your cars to be powered by petrol, you get to choose between a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder motor and 1.0-litre turbocharged three-pot. The diesel alternative is the tried-and-tested 1.3-litre motor that powers almost every car Maruti makes. All engines offer a nice blend of city and highway drivability, mixed with reasonable economy. The 1.2-litre engine is also available with a CVT automatic.

    Maruti Swift Dzire Highlights

In its latest 2017 avatar, the Dzire has got a very sensible and proportioned design. Quality of the interiors has also taken a massive leave and Maruti should be credited for liberating more cabin space inside. In fact, 2017 Dzire is now one of the most spacious cars in its segment. Under the hood, Petrol Dzire is powered by 1.2-liter K-series engine making 83PS/113Nm while the diesel Dzire comes with 1.3-liter DDiS motor putting out 75PS along with 190 Nm of max torque. Both of these engine choices are available with 5-speed manual as well as automated manual transmission (AMT).

    Maruti Swift Dzire Specifications

While the engine options maybe identical to the outgoing version, Maruti has made them slightly easier to drive. For instance, the turbo lag on the diesel engine is controlled better than before. The petrol engine is as refined and fuel-efficient as ever. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
