Thank you for showing confidence in our services & writing to us.

It's good to hear that you wish to buy a car and thank you for making us a part of it.

Buying a car often involves a lot of research. You read reviews, ask friends for advice, and get doubts answered by the dealership among others things before making a decision. While all of these steps are essential, it is not a surefire way to get the best, which you rightly deserve. We at CarDekho want to make this decision-making process easy and fast for you by giving you all the essential information.

It is indeed a good budget for the car. Now, let's see how both the cars stack up against each other.

    Jeep Compass Highlights

Look at the vertically slatted nose upfront and you’ll be instantly sold on. Inside the cabin, the top-variant of the Jeep is fully loaded though the starting trim loses on some of the important features.

The Jeep Compass is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-liter diesel engine churning 160PS/250Nm and 170PS/350Nm respectively. Both these motors come mated to 6-speed manual transmission with petrol variant getting the additional option of automatic. The Jeep Compass has already become quite popular among the buyers and giving a tough competition to range of other vehicles in its category.

    Hyundai Tucson Highlights

Hyundai has finally introduced the four-wheel-drive version of its flagship SUV, the Tucson, in India.
The Tucson features a total of five variants and offers two engine and two transmission options. It is powered by a 185PS 2.0-litre diesel and a 155PS 2.0-litre petrol.

    CD Says:

The Jeep Compass shines both on and off the road. It is stylish, spacious and well-equipped. While it may lose out on many features (which are made glaringly obvious in some respects), it makes up for the same with its very aggressive pricing.

The actual competitor of the Compass in many international markets, but in India Jeep has priced the Compass so competitively that the Tucson feels overpriced at first glance. The Tucson relies heavily on its mean exterior design, leather-covered interior, powerful diesel engine and on-road manners to attract customers. It is also backed by the company's larger service network.

Buyers in this segment expect the car to have not only functional features but also luxury touches sprinkled all over the place. Just like a luxury car in this price range, the Jeep Compass lacks several features that are available in the Tucson. Though, Compass has all the safety bits but runs short on creature comfort.

On paper, the Compass lags a couple notches behind the rivals but an aggressive price tag can certainly give it an upper hand. The Jeep brand is also worth a lot for some buyers.

Picking one, out of these two would be difficult as both have their own forte. So, we would suggest you to take a test drive before making a final call.

    Volkswagen Vento Highlights

In India, the Vento is available with three engine options – the 1.2 TSI (7-speed DSG) and 1.6-litre MPI (5-speed manual) petrol along with the 1.5-litre TDI diesel (5-speed MT, 7-speed DSG). The 1.5-litre diesel is now shared with the Ameo and while it still makes 250Nm of torque, power output is up from 105PS to 110PS.  The overall styling of the Vento is attractive and the quality of Interiors is top-notch.

    Honda City Highlights

The City is the flagship sedan of Honda Cars India Limited and has been consistently performing well through the thick and thin of the company. In its latest avatar, Honda has sharpened the looks of City’s arrow-shot design while building on its inherent qualities like well-proportioned demeanour and quality interiors.

Honda City 2017 comes with two powertrains - a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine, making raw force up to the tune of 118PS/145Nm and 100PS/200Nm respectively. Petrol Honda City comes with both manual and automatic transmission options while the diesel City features the single option of 6-speed manual gearbox.

Coming to the query, the petrol-AT combo in Vento is available with a smaller turbocharged engine that is as powerful as the bigger unit and in fact, generates more torque at lower revs.

If you’re immediately planning for a Volkswagen car, especially one among the Polo’s family, you can definitely save some money here. Further, there’s no clarity on the arrival of the next-generation models of the Polo and the Vento (now known as the Virtus) in the country anytime soon. So, there won’t be a dramatic change in these models next year or in the near future.

The petrol is available with a choice of a 5-speed manual and a CVT.  So,  if you are looking for Japanese reliability, a super refined engine and convenience features to boot, we suggest you go for the ZX petrol CVT.

    Verdict:

The 2017 Honda City facelift has been updated keeping in mind the requirements of the younger generation. It offers a healthy dose of style, space and features, which have helped it maintain pole position among rivals for a long time. The petrol engine is punchy and refined as ever, while the diesel, although a tad noisy at idle, continues to offer excellent driveability in the city and on the highway.

The Volkswagen Vento shares the platform, powertrain, strengths and weaknesses with the Skoda Rapid, however, desperately needs a generation change or at least a facelift. It has a heavy build quality and a great balance between ride and handling. These are features you'll appreciate only after you've lived with the car for some time. What you won't like is the sparse service network, high maintenance costs in case of a breakdown and low resale value.

Considering all the parameters, we would suggest you to pick for "H" badge City.

You can have an eye on Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz or Skoda Rapid as well.

  • suggest some cars for women for safe easy handeling

Published On :2017-12-15 10:31:07.0 By Arun

Thank you for considering us worthy enough to address your concern & writing to us.

It's good to hear that you wish to know about a car & thank you for making us a part of it.

There are ample of options available in different price range and segment like Renault KWID, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Ertiga etc.

Click here - Cars in India

You may also apply filters to refine your search and can shortlist some of the options from the lot.

Coming to the query, not only for women but for all the novice, Hatchback makes more sense as it becomes easy to manoeuvre i.e. drive in stop-and-go traffic, park in a compact space & much more.

We must state it clearly that eliminating the tough and heavy SUVs in this list doesn’t mean that women are not able to drive such kind of vehicles. In fact, from a Nano to an XUV500, a woman can efficiently pull off anything that she wants to. However, we would suggest to pick a small car in case the driver / women doesn't have a good hold at driving.

Over and above that, the cars in the domestic market have several options for the transmission to choose from like manual, AMT (automated manual transmission), AT etc.

Every one of us knows that traffic is becoming an ever increasing pain. It does not matter how quick your manual gearbox responds or how reliable it is when you get stuck in a huge traffic jam and suffer excruciating pain in your left leg constantly depressing the clutch.

So, if the person will be driving more in heavy city traffic then we suggest you to opt for Automated Manual Transmission(AMT) which are easier to use and more comfortable for the driver, while Manual Transmission vehicles are less expensive more involved & are more fun to drive on highways.

As new car purchase would depend on a lot of factors like budget, segment or brand preference, transmission , fuel type, specific feature requirement etc.
Hence, we request you to share your inputs so that we can assist you in right direction.

If you will be driving around 50-70 KM's.(approx.) a day, we will suggest you to go with diesel car. Otherwise, if your driving will be less, than you can opt for petrol car.

  • Need your expert suggestion. I recently bought Maruti Dzire VXI, drove it for approx 300 km. When I drive at 60khph or above speed, the wind sound inside the car feels much louder than expected (at least its more than my previous Tata diesel car). Is it a problem with this model, manufacturing defect or may be a because of new car!!
