Answers for this Question

BHP (Break Horsepower) is a unit which indicates the power produced by a car's engine. The math is simple, More the BHP, better the power. Now talking about VW POLO and AMEO, yes, they do produce lesser power in comparison to other cars in the same segment but still they are remarkable. The cars provide a good torque with on a lesser RPM.

Similarly, the cylinders also share the same relationship. More the number of cylinders, more is the power but on the cost of fuel efficiency. On the other hand, less the number of cylinders, better is the fuel efficiency and torque.

If it is particularly about power and torque, Volkswagen cars are decent. However, there are other options available which might offer you peppier engines but on the cost of fuel efficiency. Hence, it is a fair deal to go with Volkswagen.

  • Sir/Ma'am, I am keen to buy a new car. Keeping in mind the performance and features will Hyundai Creta be a better buy than Tata Nexon? The difference of cost may not be kept in mind - just consider the functional aspects of the vehicle please. With a monthly running of less than 600kms will petrol be a better bet? I would value your views.

Thank you for considering us worthy enough to address your concern & writing to us.

It's good to see that you're looking forward to buy a car & thank you for making us a part of it.

Both the options you've selected are awesome & stand apart in their own way.

Tata Nexon is equipped with refined diesel engine which is lively at low revs; the petrol motor could’ve been a notch more responsive. It gets drive modes that change the character of the engine. The dynamics of Nexon offers a comfortable ride without any compromise on handling.

Hyundai Creta is a smart looking SUV with well tuned suspension and offers a comfortable ride quality in city driving condition. It is one of the most acclaimed car in this segment & has raised the sales graph of Hyundai.

As per the monthly usage, we would suggest you to pick for a petrol car.

Under the hood, Creta has 1.6-litre VTVT Petrol Engine which churns 121.3bhp@6400rpm whereas Nexon has 1.2-litre Turbo Charged Engine which generates 108.5bhp@5000rpm. Tata Nexon is a 3-cylinder engine which reflects that NVH(Noise,Vibration,Harshness) level will be a bit on higher side and you may feel the engine noise filtering in the cabin which will be more if compared with Creta.

On the other hand, Creta is a proper SUV & Nexon is a sub-4 meter SUV and yes, you'll have better feature list in Nexon if price point is considered.

If the budget permits & you’re looking for an SUV and will spend most of your time on paved roads, look no further as the Creta is the best option. Whereas, quality control on the Nexon could’ve been slightly better and the petrol motor could’ve been a notch more responsive. That said, neither of these are reasons to rule the Nexon out completely. At a killer price tag, it is indeed a good choice to go for.

Both the siblings are backed by Maruti Suzuki’s after-sales network and support. The Ignis’s design makes it stand out, but it may not appeal to everyone. The cabin is spacious and practical for four adults whereas the Swift name has gained its popularity for all the right reasons. It’s a stylish, easy and fun to drive hatchback and feels quite well made too.

The only drawback is it’s average cabin space and boot volume, which mean it isn’t the most practical car in the segment. It is best suited to individual buyers or small families with young children.
