Hi Mr. Anurag,
This is in regards to your query posted on the website CarDekho.com, we would like to inform you that you should go for diesel car purchase only if your monthly running is more than 1500 kms else its better to go with petrol car. If you are going for a petrol car purchase we recommend you to go with Hyundai i10 as its resale value is higher and maintenance is quite low in comparison to other cars.
If are looking for diesel car no doubt Ford Figo can be called as a true value for money car.
It is hard to pick one out of the cars that you have selected. Both cars are quite nice to drive and compete neck to neck with each other. i20 has got some extra comfort features like glove box cooling, Air Quality Control and rear AC vents in Hyundai i20 Asta 1.2 . On the other front Baleno has ABS, EBD and dual airbags which are standard across all the variants. Baleno is lighter as compared to i20 which helps it to attain higher speed in less amount of time. i20 on the other hand is heavy and is quite confident to drive over turns. Our pick here would be Baleno as it is fresh and also is easy to maintain. On top of that, it offers you better fuel economy. Click here to check out the comparison.
Both cars are great, Duster is compact, less powerful and short in height hence is easier to maneuver in traffic. Due to the less power that it generates, it is also more fuel efficient. On the other front, Safari is massive, it has a bigger engine, it is bigger is dimensions and hence, is less fuel efficient. In order to choose one out of these, you need to look at the conditions you would drive your car in. If you are going to drive mostly in cities, go for Duster as it is more "Car" like and if that is not the case, go for Safari. Safari would not be a good choice if you drive mostly in traffic as it hefty and massive and therefore, it isn't easy to maneuver it. When we drove them, we got about 13 KMPL by Duster and 10.4 KMPL by Safari. Click here to take a quick look at the features on offer.
Personally, I'd pick the diesel over the petrol. The petrol not only feels under-powered, but isn't too fuel efficient either. Moreover, since it isn't available in the top trims, it misses out on most feel-good features such as touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control. Also, it skips out on the passenger airbag which we think is a big negative. Talking about the engine performance and drive It's smooth, and relatively quiet. Gets the job done inside the city easily. Clutch is light, but travel is still slightly long. On the highway, you get the feeling that it is under-powered..
