I have an ALTO K10 bought on may 2013. I rarely use it and it has only 2300KM on the odometer. It got first serviced at 300KM , 2nd on 700KM and 3rd on 1200KM. I am newbie to automobiles . Lately my car has developed a problem- While coasting ( ie accelerated to a particular speed and then foot is released from the accelerator and clutch , no brake is pressed) usually engine braking occurs. But now a new sound is being heard . I dont know to how to express the sound in words , but it like a frail metal sliding sound( imagine the exhaust pipe is being dragged at cnstant speed through the tar road a metallic friction type sound is heard no, some thing like that or something like if we drive at a low speed on a high gear a sound will occur no , that sound if frequency increased will be more like it ) . I dont know what to do. I parked the vehicle and run the engine but no change in engine noise in idle but i feel a little bit additional kick when starting the engine.I checked if it was clutch slipping/worn by applying parking brakes , and slowly releasing clutch on 3rd gear. The car tried to move forward and didnt go off. So i think no clutch problem , what else can the source of the sound??? I am very puzzled and panicked. Is it alignment problem or suspension problem , or axle problem i dont know please help. How much will it take to do repairs??
Hi, This sounds a bit strange for such a new car, but sometimes a part come faulty straight from the plant. However, the intensity of sound you are explaining, if there is a loose part or suspension problem, you could have noticed it already. Another possibility can be a faulty bearing in the drive train, so we would advise you to get it diagnosed at the nearest MSI service centre.
It is hard to pick one out of the cars that you have selected. Both cars are quite nice to drive and compete neck to neck with each other. i20 has got some extra comfort features like glove box cooling, Air Quality Control and rear AC vents in Hyundai i20 Asta 1.2 . On the other front Baleno has ABS, EBD and dual airbags which are standard across all the variants. Baleno is lighter as compared to i20 which helps it to attain higher speed in less amount of time. i20 on the other hand is heavy and is quite confident to drive over turns. Our pick here would be Baleno as it is fresh and also is easy to maintain. On top of that, it offers you better fuel economy. Click here to check out the comparison.
Both cars are great, Duster is compact, less powerful and short in height hence is easier to maneuver in traffic. Due to the less power that it generates, it is also more fuel efficient. On the other front, Safari is massive, it has a bigger engine, it is bigger is dimensions and hence, is less fuel efficient. In order to choose one out of these, you need to look at the conditions you would drive your car in. If you are going to drive mostly in cities, go for Duster as it is more "Car" like and if that is not the case, go for Safari. Safari would not be a good choice if you drive mostly in traffic as it hefty and massive and therefore, it isn't easy to maneuver it. When we drove them, we got about 13 KMPL by Duster and 10.4 KMPL by Safari. Click here to take a quick look at the features on offer.
I am looking forward to buy a Renault duster Petrol RxL. I couldn't find any useful reviews for the petrol version , the diesel has many. Going for the petrol one due to the post 10 year de-registration of diesel vehicles in Delhi. Any insights regarding the petrol version will be helpful.
Both of them belong to different segments. You will be able to purchase the base variant of Brezza in the price of the top end KUV 1OO. If features are something that you look forward to, you should go for KUV 1OO and if rigidity and better space is something that you are looking for, you should choose Brezza.
