I am buying my first car and I have shortlisted two of them. Baleno petrol version and ford figo diesel. Now I am damn confused and unable to make a choice. Baleno is from a trust worthy brand maruti with excellent service but lacks in build quality but figo has good build quality. Can experts here help me choose the best here.
It's great that you are planning to buy a new car.
Firstly, we would like to appreciate your choice as the cars that you have shortlisted are doing good when it comes to performance.
Initially, comparing these two in terms of engine specification will be unfair for the petrol variant car as the diesel car is more superior than petrol in terms of performance. Ford Figo diesel variant is equipped with 1.5-litre TDCI Diesel Engine which is more powerful and torquier than 1.2-litre VVT Petrol Engine of Maruti Baleno. Ford Figo diesel engine deliver 99bhp@3750rpm and 215Nm@1750-3000rpm which is 16bhp and 100Nm more than that of Maruti's engine.
When these are compared to each other in different aspects, they are way too different. What separates Baleno from other cars is its great look and its safety features. Even in the base model, Baleno have safety features like ABS(Antilock Braking System), EBD(Electronic Braking System) , Dual Airbags for Driver and Co-Driver.
Maruti has much preferred administration system over Ford, their workshops are additionally much better prepared.
Spare parts - Maruti has shabby extra parts and they are promptly accessible.
Resale esteem - Maruti wins again.
Design - Although design is subjective still Baleno feels more light-footed and has a superior position than Figo. The bootspace in Baleno is imperceptibly greater than the Figo. Baleno is more engagingly contrasted than Figo.
Talking about Figo - Ford cars have always had excellent driving dynamics and the Figo is no different. It offers very good handling characteristics. The Figo has brilliant handling and the steering weighs up nicely at speed. The steering on the Baleno feels a bit less responsive though but again it weighs up decently at high speeds and also offers very good feedback. Body control is good on the Baleno while it is much better in the Figo.
Verdict - It is all a matter of personal preference. The Ford Figo makes for a nice city commuter. In different guises, it offers convenience, economic and is fun to drive. If ‘Fun To Drive’ is a must-have on your checklist for your first car, this is the one for you.
The Baleno offers the perfect balance of performance, features & quality. The Baleno offers good fit and finish compared to any other car in the Maruti portfolio. The car looks beautiful from the outside and isn’t too bad on the inside either. In terms of performance, it falls in the middle of the segment and the car is easy to drive in city conditions. One of the biggest advantages of having the Baleno over the completion is the access to Maruti's unmatched after sales and service network.

Any recommendation of shop for car exhaust systems? I am located in Victoria and the best possible area would be around the city of Melbourne. I am aware of Scott's Rods but they are too far away from me now and i cannot drive to Queensland.
No, Brezza does not have Hill Launch Assist feature. Click here to know all about Vitara Brezza and its features.
Hey, the Tiago comes with a three cylinder engine which is the sole reason for the high NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels.
Yes, the engine is noisy and you will feel vibration while driving the car but it is better than the rivals when compared.

Hey, it is good to hear that you are planning for a new car. If you're looking for an SUV and will spend most of your time on paved roads, look no further as the Creta is the best option. Here, we would suggest you to opt for the petrol variant.
Your choice between diesel and petrol basically will depend on the distance that the car is driven for every day. If your monthly usage is less than 1500 kms then I would recommend the petrol version and if it is more than 1500 kms per month then you should definitely go in for the diesel version of the vehicle. This is because, though the diesel car is more expensive but the fuel is cheaper and the mileage is more than what petrol variant offers therefore, you end up saving money in the longer run but if your daily driving distance isn't much then there is no point in spending the extra money over the diesel car because it requires slightly more maintenance as well and thus, for the economy of the car to be in favour in the longer run, you should do these calculations and basis this take a decision.
