Maruti Alto Average

Answers for this Question
I am completely shocked by getting this good mileage. As I leave in Mumbai and in Mumbai traffic running on full AC I get around 15-16 Kmpl that is great. Compared to other hatchback cars this is the cheapest and has best mileage and as it is a Maruti car it has the lowest maintenance cost. I would say it is the value for money car and itâ??s after sales service is best and also it has a good resale value compared to other cars. It even has good comfortable seating and great handling.

My experience shows that I get around 15 in the city and 18 appx on the highway. With the rising cost of petrol, this is one economical car to own. Optimum milage however is linked to driving style and Maruti itself recomends excellent ways to maximise milage. The everlasting beauty of a maruti is the cost of spares and the no. of service stations. Once a Maruti owner, always a Maruti owner. Derek

Maruti Alto give average based on how you ride the car ! I have friends for whom it has given 22 kmpl average on delhi jaipur highway. He always drives the car at around 80 Kmph and avoids sharp brakes. If he has to stop at redlight more than 30 seconds he switches off the engine. Similarly another friend gets average of just 16 on highway, he is one reckless driver who drives his Alto at 120 kmph. So the average is very much dependent on the style of driving also. There is no one average that can be told for Maruti Alto

Actually I purchased a grand i10 on march 2015 and it has nice milage sufficient power and great power however sift has a bit more power than the grand but lacks in space it is not high in practicality and if there is 3 people at the back seat and going for long journey you will not have comfort and boot space is also not much big and it for storing music c does not have rear ac vents ,bluetooth connectivity ,inbuilt 1 GB space, cooled glove box and many feature. I will suggest you to buy a grand i10.

Maruti Suzuki is known for offering some of the most fuel efficient cars, cars that won't burn a hole in our pockets and you can drive them without worrying about the costs. Some of the most budget-friendly cars that the manufacturer offers are – Alto 800 and Alto K10.

Alto K10 appears to be beautiful and is outfitted with various impressive exterior features whereas it seems that Alto 800 is a mixed match assemblage of features of Maruti 800 and old Maruti Alto. The hatchback is smart and has an attractive appearance.

Under the hood, Alto K10 comes fixed with 1.0-Litre K-Series petrol engine displacing 998 cc. The engine has a configuration of 3 cylinders and 12 valves. What's more is that the power train gives out maximum power output of 67.1 PS@6000 rpm along with 90 Nm torque @3500 rpm. There is also a CNG option available, where the engine delivers maximum power of 58 PS @ 6000 rpm accompanied by 78 Nm torque @ 3500 rpm. The variants are coupled with 5-speed manual transmission, while the top end trim has an option of four-speed automatic transmission.

Maruti Alto 800 is very efficient that features 0.8-Litre engine with a displacement of 796 cc. The engine manages to churn out maximum power of 47.3 PS power at 6000 rpm with 69 Nm torque at 3500 rpm. On the other hand, there is also a CNG option that produces pretty much the same power and torque, but the mileage is better. The engine has been united with the tried and tested five speed manual gearbox.

Alto K10 is an efficient car, which has K10B motor under the bonnet. This engine allows the car to deliver an impressive fuel economy of 20.6 kmpl on the city roads and 24.07 kmpl on the expressways. The CNG variant gives away a great mileage of 32.26 km per kg.

Maruti Alto 800 has a very proficient engine, which puts a smile on your face with its fuel economy figures. The petrol one of the car gives away 24.7 kmpl of mileage on the highways, and in the city traffic, this figure goes down to 20.3 kmpl. The CNG option on the other hand gives 33.44 km per kg of mileage on the expressways, while 29.55 km per kg mileage is delivered on the city roads.

In terms of Reliability & After Sales Service, Space & Comfort, Ride & Handling or even Safety, both the cars are quite identical.

Maruti offers the Alto K10 and Alto 800 just to ensure that not even a single customer slips through and closely priced cars in lowest price bracket do that. However, if we talk about a better buy amongst the cars, you may be better off purchasing Alto K10. The mileage delivery of the Alto K10 is better than that of Maruti Alto 800. Also, the car has better road presence that the Alto 800. If you are willing to stretch your budget slightly, the Alto K10 would make a better buy among the two.

  • I am planning to buy a diesel hatchback but confused whether to go for ELITE I20 or VW POLO. My budget is 8.5 - 8.8 lakh. My priority is Low maintenance Cost, Fuel Economy Long life. Which car would be better for me among these?

Published On :Sep 30, 2016 By Arun

Well, referring to your requirements, I would suggest you to go for i20 as Polo undoubtedly has better built quality and premium interiors. However, it isn't that pocket friendly to maintain. Hyundai has a great service network in India and hence, it is easy to maintain i20. Also, the fuel economy is good with i20. Click here to check out the comparison.
