In 2009, Maruti Suzuki launched the next gen Zen christened as Zen Estilo. The new Estilo was based on the tall boy design, unlike the original Zen's jelly bean design. The Zen has this reputation of being India's first hot hatch and it was a feature loaded car in the 90's. Estilo also had a lot of features and it was the best in the segment in that aspect. Apart from design and features, the biggest difference between Zen and Estilo was the engine, the Zen was powered by a 993cc, which was capable in generating 60 bhp, while the Estilo was powered by 1.1-litre. The same 1.1-litre diesel was being offered on then WagonR and it used to churn out 69bhp.
