Theolder generation Maruti Gypsy came with a carburetor that fed the fuel to the engine manually. The current Gypsy comes with a MPFI unit that is a computer controlled electronic system that digitally supplies fuel to the engine unit. The MPFI unit is more precise, maintenance free and fool proof.
Maruti Suzuki hasn't share any such plans as of now, however there were reports that Maruti is about to stop the production of the vehicle and the vehicle will be replaced by a new off-roader, might be the new off-roader will be offered in diesel version as well.
Maruti is going to launch Gimny in the place of Gypsy. As of now, Maruti has not made any official announcement regarding its launch date in India. Stay tuned to Cardekho for any further updates on Maruti Jimny.
