Engine and Power:
Hyundai i10 is available with two different capacity engine and with nine variants. Its two variants are powered by the 1.1L, 1086cc, IRDE petrol engine is able to produce the maximum power of 66.7PS at 5500rpm and maximum torque of 10.1kgm at 2500rpm. This IRDE petrol engine delivers high performance and offers good acceleration so that the car never vibrates even after the crossing the mark of 100kmph. The rest seven variants of Hyundai i10 are powered by its popular 1.2L, 1197cc, Kappa engine produces the 80PS of maximum power at 5200rpm and 11.4kgm of maximum torque at 4000rpm. This Kappa engine is well known for offering high engine performance with better fuel efficiency.
The newly launched Maruti A Star is powered by the same KB series 998cc, 3 cylinder, 12 valve, DOHC powertrain that belts out a maximum power of 67 Ps at 6200 rpm and a top torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. The car is incorporated with 4 speed automatic transmission which promises higher acceleration and performance whereas other variants of the car comes with manual type 5 speed gearbox.
Hyundai i10 D-lite and Era gives mileage around 12kmpl in city while 16kmpl on highway, Hyundai i10 Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta are powered by the Kappa engine provides mileage 15.4kmpl in urban areas while on highway it gives 19.2kmpl and Magna AT and Asta AT of Hyundai i10 that is also equipped with the same capacity of Kappa engine but comes with the automatic transmission gearbox, giving mileage around 13.4kmpl in city and 17.2kmpl on highway.
The Maruti A-star delivers a mileage of 18.9 kmpl on highway and 14.6 kmpl in the city, though, with AT transmission the mileage will be around 17 kmpl.
Hyundai i10 is available in ten vibrant colors that are Electric Red, Virtual Yellow, Oyster Grey, Stone Black, Crystal White, Deep Ocean Blue, Champagne Gold, Blushing Red, Sleek Silver, Alpine Blue.
Maruti A Star is available with azure grey, sunlight cooper, bright red, midnight black, arctic white, silky silver, healing green, paradise blue, desert brown.
All the variants of Hyundai i10 are available within price range of Rs. 3.47 lakh to Rs. 5.58 (Ex-showroom Delhi)
Meanwhile all the version of Maruti A-star have a price range of Rs 3.56 lakh to Rs 4.34 (Ex-showroom Delhi)
The Hyundai i10 is better than the A Star, a new i10 is expected soon.
