I need a hatcback for hilly terrain of Sikkim? Which one is a better choice elite i20 sports petrol or Swift ZXI?
While Elite i20 is priced almost 30K rupees more compared to Swift ZXi, it comes loaded with essential features like Auto-Fold ORVMs, parking sensors, reverse camera, 1 GB internal music storage, centre armrest with AC vents, Bluetooth connectivity, chilled glove-box and few more. It also has more legroom at the back and boot space. As it is only launched recently, it will take some time to age keeping the image and feel of the car fresh for most of its tenure. On the flip side, it misses out on mainly on passenger airbag, rear wiper and alloys. However, alloys can be retrofitted and its omission doesn't deteriorate the drivability of the car. The steering feedback and fuel efficiency of Swift are better than Elite i20 but not by a great margin. Plus, expect a mild facelift soon from Maruti and Indian version (2nd generation) is almost 4 years old. So a new generation might be out in a couple of years that will make the car old sooner rather than later and the resale value could depreciate because of the same reason. Long story short, go for Elite i20 Sportz 1.2. Have a great ownership experience!

With the facelift, the new Rapid now comes with sharp and chiselled body lines that run throughout the length of the car. Also, it receives new bumpers at both ends. The front grille design, flanked by new headlamp units, follows the brand’s current design language that can be seen on the Octavia and Superb.
Under the hood, Skoda will continue to offer the Rapid with both petrol and diesel engine options. For the petrol variant, the company is likely to continue using the same 1.6-litre motor without any changes. However, for the diesel variant, the car will come with the updated 1.5-litre engine that currently has been introduced in the Ameo diesel. The engine features a slightly larger turbocharger that has been locally sourced and ups the power output to 110PS. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both petrol and diesel variant while a 7-speed DSG gearbox will be available only in the diesel variant.
On the price front, expect the Rapid facelift to carry a price tag that will be higher than the current pricing. For more information, click here "Facelifted Skoda Rapid Launching On November 3".
