Hi Summit , I totally agree with suchin's comment, however , just wated to give you insight about the maintainance of these two model the Beat is a 1.1.l sohc engine and the figo diesel is a 1.4l Tdci engine comparitively the figo works out more economical in terms of usage however the service and the cost of the parts are way to expensive on the other had Chevy provides a 3 year maintainance free warranty ... so the dicision has to be made keeping the future in mind.

Hi Sumit.. Both Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat are new generation premium hatchbacks, powered with a 1.2L engine. Since its launch in January this year the Chevrolet Beat has become one of the most popular premium hatchback in India as more than 13,000 units of this car has been sold in India till now. It provides a high mileage of 14 kmpl in city and is much more specious than any other car of this segment. On the other hand Figo is coming with an amazing road presence, elegant design and stylish interior features. Figo is also available in diesel version. Price wise Beat is much cheaper then Figo and you can easily save upto 50,000 while purchasing Beat. To compare these cars please click on the link given above - Compare Ford Figo With Chevrolet Beat

  • Is it suggestable to buy XUV500 W10 Varient with "AT" and "AWD" option? How is AT system of XUV500? How much AWD in XUV500 actually worths or give value for the money while offroading? Can we compare (AWD) it with Thar/Scorpio/Fortuner?

    Category : Mahindra-XUV500

The XUV500 comes with a second-generation AISIN traverse transmission. Mahindra claims that this is the second generation gearbox that is lighter and a lot more efficient than the previous generation. This same transmission is used by Mahindra on the Ssangyong Tivoli and the Ssangyong Korando-C as well. This transmission has been designed for transverse engines, so it cannot fit in the Scorpio. This transmission is available on W8, W10 front wheel drive variants and even W10 all-wheel drive variant as well. Push the accelerator and the engine responds quickly. There isn’t much of a lag from the box. The downshifts too are smooth. However when you shift to the manual mode, it is just fine. The pricing difference between the XUV500 manual and automatic is exactly a lakh. So, the W10 front wheel drive costs INR 18 lakhs (on-road, Delhi) approximately. The XUV500 has a new transmission and at the moment, it is the only seven-seater in this price bracket to be offered with an automatic. So, there is no other option for a buyer other than the XUV500 automatic. There is a Creta automatic, but that is a five-seater, and more like a compact SUV. The XUV500 also offers all-wheel drive with the automatic so there is nothing that is an all-wheel drive and an automatic under INR 20 lakhs.

With the AWD option it is the best offering and is worth to take off roads. The AWD that it offers can be compared to every other car in the segment.

It is a good choice to go with, go ahead and buy it you won't regret.

  • what are the changes in upcoming skoda rapid ?

    Category : Skoda-Rapid

With the facelift, the new Rapid now comes with sharp and chiselled body lines that run throughout the length of the car. Also, it receives new bumpers at both ends. The front grille design, flanked by new headlamp units, follows the brand’s current design language that can be seen on the Octavia and Superb.

Under the hood, Skoda will continue to offer the Rapid with both petrol and diesel engine options. For the petrol variant, the company is likely to continue using the same 1.6-litre motor without any changes. However, for the diesel variant, the car will come with the updated 1.5-litre engine that currently has been introduced in the Ameo diesel. The engine features a slightly larger turbocharger that has been locally sourced and ups the power output to 110PS. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both petrol and diesel variant while a 7-speed DSG gearbox will be available only in the diesel variant.

On the price front, expect the Rapid facelift to carry a price tag that will be higher than the current pricing. For more information, click here "Facelifted Skoda Rapid Launching On November 3".
