Can I keep the i20 Asta petrol 2009 model without running for 2-3 yrs? Please let me know
We don't recommend that you should keep your i20 Asta without driving for 2-3 years. Ask any family member or friend to drive the vehicle atleast in a week or 15 days. You can also ask any trusted mechanic to start the engine for 10 to 15 min once in 10 days. But if you are really out of options, then atleast follow these points for minimum damage. 1) Disconnect the battery and keep it in a moisture free place. 2) Place the car on two jacks, as eventually the tyres will be out of air. 3) Empty the fuel tank. 5) Tuck the car under covers, keep it away from direct sunlight or water. And once you come back to drive, make sure you change all the engine oil and have a proper service from the Authorised Service Station. You can also sell the car and for which our cardekho website can help you. All you have to do is post an advertisement under premium listing or, you can also post the add for free of cost. Initially, Hyundai Elite i20 Magna comes with a petrol and diesel engine but a CNG kit can be fitted with the one which has petrol engine. You will have to sacrifice with power to get more fuel economy and if you convert a petrol car into a CNG car, you may loose the warranty on the car and resale value of CNG cars is lesser than petrol cars. It is always recommended to get the CNG kit fitted from the authorized service center so that you can avail the warranty services as well. Moreover, the performance will depend on how the car is driven and maintained.

I have i20 2012 I-GEN (the one with DRL) model. The handbook says the fuel tank capacity is 45 ltr. Now, the other day the car blinked it's 'Low Fuel' warning light.I have read in quite some forums that you can safely say the tank has 5 ltr left after this light shows. When I went to refuel, it filled 45.87 ltr!! I am left wondering, 1) How could a 45 ltr tank fill more than it's capacity or is it that 2) the reserve tank is over the above mentioned capacity.
