I am driving Grand 10 DSL sports since last three months. I have found the car to be wonderful but have a doubt. Normally in first gear when we release clutch slowly we press accelerator and car moves, what happens to my car in I release clutch and car moves, similarly when I shift to second cars speed increases without touching accelerator pedal, in the same way with every upward shift car's speed increases accordingly until it reaches 55 kmhr in top gear without touching accelerator. I took the car to service center they did not answer convincingly. The car moves as if its in cruise mode. I would like to know if its normal or is something wrong with it. The RPM at stationary car is 1000 rpm.
It seems that the cord and wire of the accelerator is tightly pulled, there by causing the extra acceleration. To mend this, contact your authorised service station as soon as possible. This extra acceleration will decrease car's fuel efficiency as that extra acceleration is not required thereby burning extra fuel.
That's great if you are planning for a new car. It might interest you to know that Hyundai is planning to launch the facelift version of the Grand i10 sometime this year around August/September. The Grand i10 facelift is also likely to get AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). So if you are planning in 1-2 months, we suggest you to wait for its new facelift version and other new upcoming cars.
