kindly suggest which car to buy of between Amaze diesel and Swift Dzire diesel variants
If you plan to drive this car mostly in the city, you can go for the Hyundai Xcent. As for as the looks goes the both the Xcent and Amaze score over the Maruti Swift Dzire in which the boot looks more like an after thought.
In terms of the boot space offered, the Xcent and Amaze give you more than the Dzire. The backseat in the Dzire is also disappointing as the average man would feel a little cramped. The seats though are very comfortable and cushioning. The view from the driver position is very commanding and the Dashboard also feels premium.
The Amaze doesn't feel that premium in terms of the dash experience as the plastics feel slapped on to a budget. The buttons and controls in the Amaze look old and ruin the experience. The equipment list on the Amaze is also quite sparse. Where the Amaze scores well is the driving position which is quite snug but commanding. Also the backseats are amazing and has great cushioning and amzing under thigh support. The backseat of the Amaze is a place you would want to be in.
Though both the Dzire and Amaze don't get remote boot opening options. The Xcent however has the biggest boot in the segment. But, more importantly it is shaped very well and thus enables you to extract the space most generously to accommodate maximum luggage. The backseat of the Xcent gets edged out by the narrowest margin than the Amaze but the difference is not much. The back of the Xcent is not as good as the Amaze but only just. It has a very nice feel to it, leg room is ample and overall a nice place to be in. The Xcent offers a charging point for the rear seat and dedicated rear air con vents, which is a first in the segment.
But when you step into the front seats, the Xcent just bowls you over. The cabin manages to hit all the sweet spots. The dash is very premium. The plastic quality used is very good and the equipment list like in any Hyundai car is very large. But what is most impressive is that is quite cheaper than Amaze i DTec VX and only slightly expensive than Swift ZDi. But, all these top models are in your price bracket.
When it comes to the engines all these cars boast of engines that are very diverse. The Hyundai has the least power among the three with 71 bhp. The beefist motor of the three is the Honda Amaze with 98.6 bhp of power. Treading the middle ground is the Maruti Swift with 74 bhp of power. But surprisingly, if you stack the three cars up, it is the Maruti that is the quickest, whether it's accelerating from standstill or in-gear roll-ons, the Maruti outpaces the other two.
But in the city traffics it has a turbo lag that makes it pretty frustrating. It would take some getting used to to drive the Maruti smoothly. The strength of the Honda motor is it's drivability. This means that cruising at low speeds in the Amaze is good. But, the downside is the loudness of the engine. The Xcent's engine is the most silent and very smooth to drive. So as a package Xcent is the best one for driving in city.
Sir, My Honda amaze, 1.2 SMT, Petrol has run only 2500 k.m in one year. Pl. suggest if engine oil replacement and wheel balancing are required in the fourth (paid) service (after one year as per car manual). Is servicing the car needed all since car has run only 700 k.m after third free serving 6 months ago? Regards, Binod Khandelwal, 9422673873
