Hi, I have a new swift diesel zdi 2014 done 2500km, I got oil changed to shell helix hx7 10w40. But now I came to know recomende oil grade is 5w40 so should I continue with the oil or change to recomended grade oil immediately pls advice, thank you.
The abilities of an engine oil can be judged on the basis of its grade and additives used in it. The Shell Helix HX7 is a high performance engine oil and recommended for the Swift, but as you said the recommended grade is 5W40. However, we would like to tell you that the 10W40 will also not harm your car's engine. Both the engine oils are multi grade semi engine oils and basic difference between both the oils is that at lower temprature or normal temprature the 5W40 has lower viscocity and the 10W40 has a higher viscocity, however at a higher temprature both the engine oils has the same viscocity index of 40, which 10W40 is more thicker than the 5W40 on normal temprature.
The advantage with the 5W40 is that it helps the engine to start quickly in extermly cold weathers (where temprature is lower than -5 degree), apart from that both the engine oils shares the same chracterstics. As in India, the temprature doesn't fall that much, you are using the same engine oil more or less.

Dear sir , i have purchased Maruti Suzuki Celerio ZXi (O) AMT ( Automatic Transmission) car. Can fit CNG Kit to my car ( Celerio ZXi (O) AMT) from outsider dealer. Because it automatic car so i am feared about it. Please guide me
You can get it fitted from some one outside. However, it is going to void the warranty of your vehicle. We would suggest you to contact your nearest authorized dealership for the information about it. Click here to fetch the information of your nearest service center.
I PRESENTLY OWN A SKODA SUPERB. WANT TO BUY A 7 SEATER SUV. THE FORD ENDEAVOUR WITH ITS RICH FEATURE INTERESTS ME. HOWEVER, MY CAR TRAVEL ON AN AVERAGE IS NEVER MORE THAN 6000 KMS PER YEAR. SHOULD I GO FOR THE DIESEL SUV, OR OPT FOR THE TOYOTA FORTUNER? THANKS.
Hey, we would suggest you to go for the Endeavour 2.2 here as it is Cheaper, optional automatic and good for limited usage. Fortuner petrol indeed is a good option. However, The Endeavour diesel is cheaper to buy compared to the Fortuner petrol by nearly 2 lakh for the automatic Trend variant. Infact, the top-spec Endeavour 2.2 AT 4x2 is on par with the petrol Fortuner automatic also Fortuner is more expensive and would not deliver mileage as the Endeavor. Hence, Endeavor is a better deal here. Click here to check out the comparison.
Hey, if you drive for 50 kms in a day, we would suggest you to go for a diesel variant as your monthly running can be more than 1500 kms. The diesel variant though would be expensive to maintain and would cost you more than the petrol variant but you will be able to cover that cost while you drive it.
