One of the biggest dilemmas faced by a car buyer today is deciding between buying a petrol car or a diesel. Deciding which car to buy is difficult enough and on top of that you have to figure out which of the two fuel options; petrol or diesel will suit your need the best. There are so many factors to take into account and that can make things very complicated. Diesel is cheap and economical, but the diesel version of a car is significantly more expensive than the petrol. And then there is also the average monthly running that you need to take into account and to top it all off there is the ever changing price gap between the two fuel options.
Petrol is cheaper, but diesels generally use less fuel. So which type of car should you choose?
Lots of car buyers struggle with this simple decision – which is best, petrol or diesel? The truth is that there's no one right answer. It depends on your priorities and the type of driving you do.
Diesel cars are much quieter than they used to be, so it's unlikely that you'll want to avoid them simply because of the noise. They're also more fuel-efficient than petrol, particularly out of town on long journeys.
Petrol cars are generally quieter, but the main reason that most small cars have petrol engines is because the car itself is not that expensive, and adding a diesel engine would increase the price by too much.
If you intend to drive a lot of miles, it's worth paying more upfront and going for a diesel. But if you don't use your car that much, you'll probably be better off paying a bit more for your fuel but much less for the car itself.
Determine average daily/monthly running:
A basic thumb rule while choosing between a petrol model or a diesel is you buy a diesel only when your average monthly running is on the higher side. 1,500-1,800 km a month would be considered good enough to warrant the purchase of a diesel model. Determining average running is a not that hard. A lot depends on the city you reside in too. Average monthly running in bigger cities like Mumbai and Delhi would be much higher owing to greater distances.
In general, servicing costs and costs of spare parts are higher for diesel cars than petrol ones. Right from the cost of oil replacement to the battery and clutch plate, etc. all cost more in case of diesel cars. Also, the NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) levels of petrol cars are lower than that of diesel cars. However, since diesel engines do not make use of spark plugs that cost can be eliminated. But they do get turbochargers which will push up maintenance costs.

CNG kit can be fitted in Maruti Baleno. It is always recommended to get the CNG kit fitted from the authorized service center so that you can avail the warranty services as well. If you get it installed from some other sources, then it may hamper your warranty. However, you have to sacrifice with the power to get more fuel economy.

Well, CNG kit can be fitted in any petrol car. This will enable you to get a better fuel efficiency from your car but you need to compromise with the performance and power. If you convert your petrol car into a CNG car, you may loose the warranty on the car(if CNG fitted from non-authorized centre) and resale value of CNG cars is lesser than petrol cars. We suggest you to get CNG kit installed from the authorized service station.
