Is Automatic transmission cars risky when it comes to overtaking? which Automatic version is a safe one AT/AMT/DSG/CVT?
Well, at times this can not be said but when it comes to overtaking any vehicle, you require a good amount of pick up in the vehicle which you will definitely get in Manual cars. Now, talking about the best one to pick. Please find below our inputs.
The reliability of these gearboxes are directly related to the wear and tear, the AMT still uses the clutch mechanism and the CVT does not use a clutch at all, as for the DSG, it requires a dual clutch to engage a gear.
CVT is the most probable gearbox for the reliability when it comes to daily commuting purpose, which will include traffic and a lot of 'stop and go' driving condition. This type of gearbox uses a single speed transmission, you might find this high revving & accelerating, however, there is not much of friction with several gears shifting.
The AMT gearbox is reliable too, it is as good as a manual gearbox of a particular model, it removes the hassle of manual use of the clutch through a pedal. The most important aspect of an AMT is that it is cost effective and you can experience an automatic gearbox in your first car.
As for the DSG, it is reliable when it comes to sports cars, DSG cannot be compared to the AMT or CVT, as the performance of the DSG is way too advanced compared to the other two gearboxes.
The S10 AT 2WD costs about INR 16,84,320 and the S10 AT 4WD costs around INR 17,56,244. Click here to check out the on road price of all the variants. Hi, I am Rajesh this side. I have almost finalized the Renault KWID 1.0 AMT version but then I got a call from other dRenault dealer informing me about some scheme on renault pulse. Now I am a bit confused as the on road price of both the vehicles is coming alomst the same. While I have gone thru the specks of both the vehicle, can you please help me know if Renault is planning to stop the production of Pulse??
Hi Rajesh, glad to know that you are planning for a new car and thanks for making us a part of it. Its great that you are getting good offers on Renault Pulse and if the on-road price of the car is coming near to the on-road price of KWID, then its a better pick here.
Moreover, as you said that you have almost finalized Renault KWID 1.0 AMT, then we would really like to know that why you are going with a manual one. AMT will provide you a better driving experience while manoeuvring the car in city traffic and also, the KWID has more features (Comfort and convenience) on offer.
Rest, there is no news from Renault about discontinuing the Pulse. We recommend that you take a test drive of both the vehicles and then make the final decision. Please click here to check the detailed comparison.
HI i am sharif from chennai i am gonna buy a new car and the confusion is between Maruti Breeza and WR-V both diesel , can u suggest which is the best option for me. The point which i consider is Fuel Economy, Low maintenance cost, good resale value.
Hey, we are glad to know that you are planning for a new car and the options that you have shortlisted are pretty good. Thank you for making us a part of your car buying journey.
Now, talking about the cars that you have shortlisted, Maruti Vitara Brezza is the only SUV available in Maruti family. The car is compact and comes with lots of styling. Apart from this, the features that are on offer are pretty decent.
Talking about WR-V, this newly launched car compete with the likes of TUV 300, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport etc. There are only two models on offer in Diesel. The car has edgy looks and sharp exteriors.
Now, coming to a conclusion, we recommend that you go ahead for Maruti Vitara Brezza here as per your requirements. The car delivers a better mileage and has a good resale value. There is no doubt on the maintenance cost as it belongs to Maruti Family and they do hold the best position in India when it comes to maintenance cost.
